Why haven't they considered the massive energy potential of Manatee oil? They are useless disgusting animals anyway, and it would be a renewable resource.

Filled up at 1:30... Mid grade was 2.79.

At 5:30... Mid grade was over 5.00 (depending on the station).

I filled up the XX this evening... I've never put 12.00 worth in my bike... Until now.

The pipeline from the Gulf has been shut down, (two of them) due to Katrina. There have been SO many rumors around that people have panicked around here.

Doraville... (Our local fuel dump for Atl) has 10 days worth of fuel for the metro area. With the impending holiday weekend (normal fuel gouging time) we have been set upon like Hyenas at a discarded kill!!!!

Re: Time to tap the Strategic Petroleum Reserve?

A lot of other countries pay way higher prices for petrol. In Sydney at the moment it's about $1.27AUS for 1 litre. There are 4 litres in a gallon.

It's even worse in the UK I believe. We would paying what the US does.

It does, just not as heavily. Your extra taxes on the fuel help pay for gov't healthcare and "free" education.

no, we would have to have additional production capabilties to use the reserves. more oil is not the answer, less demand.

Depends on the price. Taxes vary from about $.30-$.50/gallon state by state. Around $.40/gal is most common. They are not set on a percentage.

You have to ask yourself why folks always ask questions that can easily be answered by typing a few words into a search engine....
