Heston also said what Moore had in his other film...just that a clip of "one speech" was actually from a couple of speeches about 2 years apart.

Moore is too deceptive for my taste and I think he preys on the gullible. That's just me though.

What film?? just wondering cause i saw bowling, and wonder what part, just to see if i can spot it.

he certainly knows how to play the emotions of the victimized masses to his benefit, but that is something that would be expected by reporter/writer/whomever to prove ones point.

Columbine. Watch the parts on Heston's NRA speech in Denver. It's been edited from two different speeches...watch his clothing.

I was afraid that I was the only one disappointed in it. It probably wouldn't get much consideration if it were some 19 year old's sophomore film project. It had about that level of sophistication.

In the documentaries-released-in-the-last-six-months department, I thought Control Room was much better.

Seriously... did any of you NOT expect Bake to have this opinion? He probably had it typed out before he posted the original thread. It's like setting yourself for a spike in volleyball... it just doesn't count.

Only by a "reporter/writer/whomever" who had no ethics, and was not smart enough to make their argument without lowering themselves to the point of lying. Which is exactly what Moore does, IMO, by twisting this **** so outrageously.

This is a kind of obscure reference I read about on the plane last night, but I think it illustrates how easy this is for a dishonest writer to do.

In WWII, the British had a guerrilla outfit called the Chindits in China. They were commanded by a "Military Maverick" (the name of the book) named Orde Wingate. The main military establishment hated Orde, and did everything they could to undermine even the history of this very effective organization. Here's an example of how a "Moorism" was done in the British Official History. BTW, conveniently for his detractors who wrote the history, Wingate was killed during the war.

From the Japanese Commander in the area, during his interview:

The Chindit invasion did nothing to stop our plans to attack Kohima, BUT, they had a decisive effect on these operations, and drew off the whole 53rd and parts of the 15th division, one regiment which would have turned the scales at Kohima (where the Japanese lost)

How it was reported in the Official History, as written by a General who hated Wingate:

The Chindit invasion did nothing to stop our plans to attack Kohima

A simple cut and he used the words of a Japanese General, who clearly showed Wingate was the decisive factor in the battle, and Wingate's name was officially slandered.

I too was waiting for some revelation as to why the war started, but it was a bunch of innuendos at best, and contrived drivel the rest of the time.

Plus it was just boring!!

Well, check the first question. O'Reilly pointed out that Bush was acting on intelligence from three different sources - the CIA, the Brits, and the Russians. While he may have been misinformed (I don't think he was, personally), he wasn't lying. He was acting in information given to him from reputable sources. Regardless, Moore maintains that he's a liar period. Kudos to him for going on Bill's show, but he's wrong and he's misleading. He pulled the same stunts in his mockumentary about Columbine as he has in 9/11, from what I've heard.

I still feel that Iraq did have the weapons (more substantial that the warheads found), and that they either hid, destroyed, or moved them when we invaded. Maybe one day we'll find more.

If Moore stated the earth is round, you guys would claim it isn't true.

I'm not sticking up for Moore but you paint such a saintly and naive picture of Bush that I just don't believe. If Bush tells us the moon is made out of cheese, I just know some people are going to say, "Oh, well it was his advisors that misinformed him."

Re: Fahrenheit 9/11

I don't want to know anyone who buys Moores points at face value but I would also not want to know anyone who trusts everything Bush says either. They are both playing the same game except one is on a movie theater and the other is only running a country.

Both have good points and bad but they both have too many other short comings and shady aspects for the real truth to be seen and understood. Such is politics.

I did like the one joke I heard the other day about Moores film breaking the 100 million mark.

"Now Moore has made as much money off the war as Cheney has."
