You can judge another man by the actions of another?

I can't....it doesn't seem fair or honest to them or yourself....

Edit:
I think it's every man's responsibility to gauge men by their actions, not those of others.... Everyone on this board knows I am an asshole....

Re: Us reliance on oil

For those interested in the underlying question, I quote part of a research piece I read today:

"The long-run relationship (since 1987) between oil demand and Asian growth is one for one: 1% oil demand growth for each 1% GDP growth. For the US and Western Europe it is 0.4 for 1. So Chinese demand growth over the past year is high-side, and almost certainly reflects some inventory effects. But the basic point is that of the world’s oil demand of a little over 80 mbpd, more than 30 now represents the developing world. This is growing at about 5% (trend basis), some 1.5-1.6 mbpd. OECD oil demand is about 50 mbpd and is growing at 1¼%, or 0.6 mbpd. The combined total of 2.1-2.2 mbpd is 2½-¾%, faster than in the 15 years from the mid-1980s oil price collapse until the early 2000s. And the growing weight of Asia means this could accelerate further in the medium term. - Lombard Street Research"

The Chinese are trying to build hydro and nuclear power stations as fast as they can to reduce their oil dependency and their ratio of oil consumed to gdp growth. LOL

Thank you. Someone else who took the time to research the topic rather than spew the anti-US **** fed out in the mass media!

Here's a link to the US Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE)
It details the federal spending programs past, present and future.

You can also search the net easily and find billions of dollars in active private research programs....

Not wrong, but dead wrong. We could have bought all the oil we wanted, and cheaply, from Saddam.

It's amazing how little some people know or how short their memories are. The USA as a country leads the world in matters of human rights and relief.

[Can of Worms]

As long as we are talking about why we are at war, I will agree that oil played a major role with respect to France, Germany and Russia. They were all taking bribes from Saddam via the UN "Oil for Food" program. This corruption rendered the UN powerless to enforce it's sanctions against Iraq, and threated the very integrity of the UN itself.

The US government knew this, and acted accordingly when Annan failed to rectify the situation.

[/Can of Worms]

Bring it....

Yep, well documented. They were all worried about Iraq defaulting on loans.

Oh but come on, the US is messing up world stability and just war mongering under George Bush who's fighting his Daddy's war and for his buddies at Haliburton...and of course for our cheap oil....the New York Times, CBS, Dan Rather and Michael Moore told me so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
