Well, they did it again...

http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/...ing/index.html

Maybe we should start making our own videos of prisoners we have from them?

WARNING. ATTACHED VIDEO IS VERY GRAPHIC.

That is the most horrible thing I have seen happen. Emotions from anger to sadness.

Why aren't these contractors sleeping with rifles? I'd much rather go down in a firefight than like that!

I heard about this, and am once again heartbroken and disgusted. There's no way I could possibly watch video of this horrific act. I only hope and pray that they find that evil vermin Zarqawi and bring him to justice. Truly sickening.

Sickening. I agree with LTL. I'd be sleeping with guns and knives. No way would I be alive by the time it got that far.

Re: Well, they did it again...

I have become insensitve to this crap now. Time to go on the offensive. How about improvised exploding dummy contractors. Keep the contractors in a 12 room house, 11 of the rooms have a dummy set to explode based on proximity.

I guess its alot easier to just sleep barricaded in numbers armed to the teeth.

Plain and simple, they can't. They are classified as "non-combatants". They accept the risk when they fill the position unfortunately. As members of the Geneva Convention we have to stick to those guidelines whether our adversaries do or not.

Please don't think I am not agreeing with you. I would have a weapon over there, or I would not be there at all. I have three friends over there as contract firefighters working for Brown and Root. Over there as civilians. Unfortunately, they are enticed into those civilian positions by a lot of money and huge rewards ... if you survive. You guys have no idea how my heart was pounding when I opened that link to the cnn page.

Re: Well, they did it again...

That's not true. There are civilian contractors doing security for the military.

I have a friend's whose roommate went over as a contractor and an American soldier gave him an AK the first week he was there to carry everywhere.

Who said civilians working security were armed? The gate guards at Vandenburg aren't.

Your story about your friend's roommate illegally being given an AK by a soldier is hardly good proof that civilians are armed by the military, seeing as though the AK has never been in the US arsenal, and any AK that was found would be stolen (spoils of war), if it was still intact and hadn't been destroyed.

Who said those guys were working for the military anyways? Brown and Root is a civilian contracting firm hired by the government, not the military. (There is a difference, you know).

I don't do well with these types of things. I can't believe how horrid that was. I got light headed and my face was all flushed. I made it through but I will never watch anything like that again. I can't believe human beings are capable of doing that.

Re: Well, they did it again...

my question is:

what do we, as a country, do in a situation like that? do we sit idly by and let these scumbags off our citizens? Even though they knew the risks of the job before going over, what do we do in this case? Negotiate? I dunno...

This was a truely horrible act perpetrated by cowardly scum.Anyone in the world can put on a hood/balaclava whatever and be brave with an AK-47 in their hands with a prisoner bound at their feet. They are cowards.

Once you start doing this you become as they are.Everyone calls them the scum of the earth for what they did and doing the same, even in retaliation, makes you just the same as them.Don't sink to that level.

Um...no they don't, half the world thinks they are heros!
And nothing wrong with tit for tat. The ONLY reason they keep doing it is because we don't. When afgahni rebles kidnapped Russians to ask for there comrads back. The Russians sent back those comrads in coffins with their balls in their mouths. I think we should send back the two whores that we have taken prisoners in coffins with plastic explosives in their holes!

If it degenerates into tit for tat then it just becomes mindless killing and totaly defeats the war against terrorism. We all have moral standards and laws and ignoring either, albeit in anger, is wrong.

If America starts tit for tat killings in the same manner there is no way these people will stop. They aren't afraid to die as has been shown by their willingness to strap bombs to themselves before running into soldiers. If you think killing some of them will stop this then look at Northern Ireland.30 years of voilence that in the end just boils down to ignorance and intolerance.
"they killed one of us, lets go get one of them"
So cut off some guys balls and send him back. The next American will get the same and be shot in the knee aswell and so on and so forth.Killing one of them in revenge is terrorism.

Re: Well, they did it again...

We didn't start this. The crusades started it. It was an international group, with members from France, Italy and England. From France, we have Hugh the (not so) Great, Count of Vermandois, brother of the French King of Northern and Central France, and a man of little character with no other importance to our story. With him were Godfrey, Baldwin and Eustace of Bouillon, sons of the Duke of Lower Lorraine - descended through their mother from Charlemagne - along with their cousin, Baldwin Le Bourg. Also from France, we have Raymond IV of Saint-Gilles, Count of Toulouse, who had already fought the Moors in Spain. His mother was a princess of Barcelona. He was the first to "Take the Cross".
From England, we have Robert, Duke of Normandy, son of William the Conqueror. From Italy, we have Marcus Bohemond, Prince of Toranto, son of Robert Guiscard, a Norman who had not fallen too far from his barbarian tree, and also his nephew Tancred.
Now the Muslims took it to the USA. I'll be ****ed if we do the same cowardly thing as the weak Spaniards did.
If a wolf finds a group of sheep, the wolf will eat well until the sheep are all gone.

Exaclty what i was thinking. I'm going down in a fight. i'm not letting anyone tie me up and cut me up like cattle.

How good would it be if merc's are hired to ambush a group of these bastards, let them storm a room to capture someone only to have these guys jump out and take care of them. keep them as hostages and start having some fun. every day have them swimming in pig ****, chop off a toe here and there. the whole works and give a tape everyday to your friendly neighbourhood al jazeera station.

ok deep breath. i feel better now.

Fair enough. Just tell me, which Islamic people came up to Italy, France, and England to wipe them out?
Or are we talking about Europe being upset that there African "colonies" were getting, "Uppity"?
