"Koranium"

I think the real problem (as has been pointed out) is idle threats in this case.

Getting the UselessNations involved only means they'll threaten and shake their fists at Iran for a good ten years before someone with enough balls comes around to take care of the UselessNations' mess.

Any bets on how long before an invasion?

Re: Europe's Ultimatum for Iran - A paper tiger?

They're no further along than Iraq was.
We won't invade them. I still think we should let them build a few nuke warheads and medium range missiles. Once the first one lands in the middle of euroland maybe those idiotic pussies will wake up.

Yeah, I know - pipe dream. They'll just instantly surrender and continue to pander to Iran.

I would think Iran is more likely to take aim at the US before EU

They're nowhere near capable of that kind of range.

Re: Europe's Ultimatum for Iran - A paper tiger?

I'd have thought the last thing the US wants now is another war on it's hands.

You haven't got enough troops, little popular or political support, and few global friends to do anything. Rant and rave all you want, you're not going to do anything either.

And after the complete **** up that is Iraq, that's probably for the best too.

Maybe it would be best just to turn the middle east into a smouldering crater and be done with it.

Re: Europe's Ultimatum for Iran - A paper tiger?

I'm with BDA here. Let them build one, lob it at a european nation and see who we (we being the USofA) have to bail out from speaking arabic permanently.

The reality of the situation is that if they could get one to take flight accurately, israel would take it first, possibly followed by india. Which, for a multitude of reasons would pull us in anyway.

This won't end easily.

It's not really wise to make those kind of assumptions.

Either way, why would they bother hitting Europe? Israel would be the best target of oppurtunity and would have the same effect as hitting the U.S. or an E.U. nation.

*EDIT*

Oopz, I see willi has already said the exact same thing.

Well, if Israel was bombarded to the point of being a giant slab of glass, the only other outstanding interest we would have in the area would be oil. The post-WW2 line drawing that created Israel seems to be an outstanding source for our modern involvement in the region.
The Iranians are hopefully rational enough and bright enough to understand that they wouldn't want to start dropping bombs on their neighbors. Yes, you might cause them damage today, but the harm lingers for decades and "migrates". I wonder how everyone would deal with irradiated oil? Wouldn't want to start spreading that all around....

God bless 'em if they attack India.

Though, I don't think they will.

I see this more as being a simple bait.
