| Re: Gun Crime in the UK Re discussion in this (or many other) forums, I came across this definition today:
Political infants are people who are unable to state their opponent's position in terms their opponent will agree with. |

| Re: Gun Crime in the UK How can there be gun crimes in England ?
Didn't the government confiscate all of them ?
What was that? The criminals didn't reigister and turn their guns in when they were supposed to ?
A tragedy.
A vote for Kerry is a Vote to disarm law abiding citizens.
Vote for Bush and preserve your 2nd Amendment rights! |

"No amount of government spin will hide the fact that violent crime is out of control," he said. "We now have record levels of gun crime, rocketing sex offences, a further 14% increase in violent crime and overall crime is nearly 750,000 higher than 1998."
| Well no sh!t. Who would have guessed that taking away the most effective means of defending oneself would lead to an increase in crimes against them?
Gun-control isn't an issue - it's a movement. When people stop taking groups the the Brady Center seriously and start accepting the responsibility for self-defense then we might see a change. I won't be holding my breath though.
Edit: Sorry, didn't bother to add this: Quote: |
She said: "We urgently need more trained armed police officers throughout England and Wales to tackle the growing menace of gun crime, otherwise lives will increasingly be put at risk."
| Unless you want England to turn into a police-state, hiring more cops won't necessarily make the streets safer, since criminals do what they can not to commit their crimes in front of them. The majority of the work of the police will still be responding to crimes rather than preventing them. So go ahead and vote for more gun-control and then feel safe knowing that if you're robbed or raped, you'll be able to call the police from your cell-phone (assuming of course that you're able to). What's the joke - call for a cop, ambulance, and pizza-guy and see who shows up first?

Unfortunately, when Kerry takes office he won't worry about changing your heart and mind, just the laws...
In fact he's already starting today....take a look at the papers. He went on a little goose hunting trip today, and in the photo op took the opportunity to prattle on about the 2nd amendment....in short, he wants to twist the 2nd Amendment into a "hunting" issue.....

| Re: Gun Crime in the UK I'll post up part part of this month's American Rifleman story on him. Yes, they are NRA and biased. But you can easily check his voting record and there is no doubt, Kerry wants all Americans unarmed.
Hunting? Kerry supported Kennedy's proposal to outlaw high power centerfire rifle cartridges. You know, the kind you hunt with.

| Re: Gun Crime in the UK We're an endangered, sensitive bunch. Especially those of us who live here in Kalifornistan where the voters think putting the government in control of everything will make the world a happy place where we can all smoke dope and goto love ins. |
