This neglects the size of our country, like oldfogey said. The US is kinda like the EU. It's a conglomoration of European sized countries (we call them states though) and the diversity is about the same save the fact we have the same money and language.

Nowadays, with the EU, once you're in Europe they pretty much never check your passport anymore. Only on entry to the EU, and exit. But even in 2000, they still checked it at almost every country.

Now one of the stats doing the round involves passport ownership. Some sources put it as around 75% for British and australian adults as opposed to somewhere between 7 and 25% for US adults.

First computer users in general (higher average level of education than non-computer users). Also I have seen studies that state the same about bike riders in general. On the other hand it is a good cross section of the country for the set that is motorcycle owners.
