USA Today Editorial as a resident and someone that voted no I would like to set anyone that sees this farse straight.

The original amendment was a nicely written piece that would have easily passed by a high percentage. However one of the original AUTHORS opposed it as REWRITTEN in the wee hours by a teacher's union lobbyist. This kind of thing happens in AL when they are trying to give the voter's the shaft. Many I know that voted against the bill were saddened by the slime that modified an otherwise nobel endeavor. Just thought I would spread the view from a person that actually voted in the election rather than Mr Wickham's point.

Yeah, bills get amendments added and ruin them all the time.

It's the problem with judging politicians (like Kerry) because he voted against a bill that appropriated military equipment. What else was in the bill in question?

Makes for good soundbites for people like this guy to spew on about...hey they gotta write to get paid.

This was a state constitution amendment and it REALLY sucks that they tried to slide in stuff. It removes all the old racist BS that is no longer in force and people don't do. Could have made the state look good if the slimey weasels had not tried the scam
