These morons won't give up...

Quote:
Harvey Wasserman, a lead activist in the effort and editor of freepress.org...cited "a broad range of tactics used to shift the vote from Kerry to Bush."
Mr. Wasserman and a team of lawyers and statisticians spent months analyzing election data and found that exit polls did not match the reported vote in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida and seven of eight other key battleground states.
In Ohio, for example, exit polling conducted by a top expert indicated Mr. Kerry got 52.1 percent, when the vote totals show he got 48.7 percent. The statisticians said that shows the vote count was dishonest. The group — which contends Mr. Kerry won the election — cited voter suppression and irregularities, including withholding voting machines from the predominantly Democratic Columbus area.
Mr. Bush won Ohio by about 119,000 votes, 2 percentage points ahead of Mr. Kerry, after a recount that activists claim was conducted improperly. Nearly 40 voters are challenging the victory in the Ohio Supreme Court, citing voting irregularities, but Chief Justice Thomas Moyer has yet to rule.

Do these people really believe exit polls are more accurate than actual votes cast? Are they polling EVERY person? Even if so, I wouldn't tell a pollster which candidate I'd voted for...I'd tell him to get bent. Or maybe I'd tell him I voted for Kerry, just to throw off the numbers.

Sheesh. Give it up already.

Re: These morons won't give up...

I DID tell the pollster I voted for kerry.
Of course, I wasn't lying because I voted for kerry (dem primary) before I voted against him (when it counted).
Pollster numbers are ALWAYS wrong. Always have been, always will be.

That's nothing....just wait until the inaugural...we'll get to hear how wasteful that is, and that it should be spent toward tsunami aid....

My overly liberal parents still whine about the Gore Bush election...I wish they'd just let it go.

You could argue that the 2004 election was lost in that manner....too much looking back, and not enough looking forward....

Kerry Criticizes Election Outcome
U.S. National - AP

BOSTON - Sen. John Kerry (news - web sites), in some of his most pointed public comments yet about the presidential election, invoked Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy on Monday as he criticized President Bush and decried reports of voter disenfranchisement.

The Massachusetts Democrat, Bush's challenger in November, spoke at Boston's annual Martin Luther King Day Breakfast. He reiterated that he decided not to challenge the election results, but "thousands of people were suppressed in the effort to vote."

"Voting machines were distributed in uneven ways. In Democratic districts, it took people four, five, eleven hours to vote, while Republicans (went) through in 10 minutes — same voting machines, same process, our America," he said.

In his comments, Kerry also compared the democracy-building efforts in Iraq (news - web sites) with voting in the U.S., saying that Americans had their names purged from voting lists and were kept from casting ballots.

"In a nation which is willing to spend several hundred million dollars in Iraq to bring them democracy, we cannot tolerate that too many people here in America were denied that democracy," Kerry said.

Voting irregularities in Ohio drove primarily Democratic challenges to the Nov. 2 election, but Congress eventually affirmed President Bush the winner by a slim electoral vote count of 286-251 — plus a single vote cast by a Minnesota elector for Kerry's running mate, former Sen. John Edwards.

Re: These morons won't give up...

He is just angry because someone finally told him second place is the first loser. No one lost or won that election for him but himself. He didn't take a firm stand on anything and his own personal voting record speaks for itself. He also tried to bring up military records to sway it in his favor even though his was far from stellar as well. Just some things he should have though about oh say, last January.

Re: These morons won't give up...

While I completely agree that they need to build a bridge, do you think the republicans would be any different if the results were reversed? I doubt it.....not that that makes it ok for the dems to keep on about it. I think bake is right. 2004 election there seemed to be one hand already on the trigger ready to be pulled should the 2000 election repeat. Gotta look forward, not dwell in the past.
