Is Iran Next?

they sure are talking tough....If we do decide to use military force against Iran, I'm sure a segment of the world would just see it as "another attack on Islam"

dunno man. Somehow I doubt it, even though we pretty much have them surrounded.

I do however think 100% that we do have CIA operatives on the ground there. No doubt about it...

Re: Is Iran Next?

I reckon it all depends on the situation in Saudi Arabia. Id say Bush will wait and see what happens there over the next few months/years. He'd hate to have his forces stretched trying to cover Iraq and Iran when/if the house of Saud falls. He'll want to swoop in from Iraq and secure the eastern oil fields.

Some of the press has been prattling on that we actually have had Special Forces in Iran for several months....surveying airstrike targets....

I'm guessing that is true....the Bushie's certainly are hedging their bets that Europe will act on this issue....

Don't forget we're still in Afghanistan. My unit just sent 2 groups to (fillintheblank)istan and 1 group to Bagram.

The real question with Iran is whether the Europussies are going to let them build the bomb....

Of course they will. France and Germany showing some spine? I think not.

That is a scary thought - the idea of religious zealots in Iraq or elsewhere with their finger on the button, prepared to "do God's will" by doing away with some country that doesn't share their fundamentalist beliefs. I'm not saying we should invade, but doesn't something need to be done about nuclear proliferation?

I have to take issue with this statement...

You make it sound as if they have their thumbs up their OWN asses. I believe it should read "in each other's asses."

That's all.

I still want to know where Osama is??!! No longer a priority? Wasn't he the main priority previous to invading Iraq? Do you think they are still trying to find him, or do they think he's no longer a threat?

I think they're still trying to find him, and I think they think he's less of a threat (right or wrong). How much the Pakistani or Somali (?) or other governments are cooperating (obviously important) is another question.

China maybe Didn't they find a ton of Chinese weapons in Afghanistan or Iraq, some being nearly brand new?

If things work out in Iraq the middle east will see it the democratic way. We are planting a tree in Iraq and the roots will grow out and spread democracy. Granted we have to get it right in Iraq but it should happen.

I think maybe the zarqawi (sp?) dude might be the present priority... the more I read, I think Osama was the "face" and the financial backing for a lot of things... Whereas zarqawi was the "go do it" guy.

Dunno. I think presently though the initiative is to rid the world of "states" that knowingly fund terrorism of their means to do mass harm in the way of nukes, chemicals, etc...
