Iraqi voting

I wonder why there hasn't been much coverage of the Iraqi election? Are we ashamed of their turnout? Or is it because nothing got blown up?

I thought they were saying 90% turnout in some locations?

Yeah, I heard that as well...but it didn't seem like it was covered well at all. I'm just wondering if it was because it was such a positive thing that they just decided they weren't gonna cover it because it's obvious that the Iraqi's didn't want us there

On Sunday night there was a ton of coverage. Of course, I was looking for it on Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc. Seemed like it was pretty well covered to me.

I didn't get to see it on TV since my Sunday nights are usually busy. Tried to find stuff on the web, and it was minimal. When something blows up, it's usually at the top of the headlines for at least 24hrs.

I thought that it was covered less than it should have been. SImple reason: it went relatively well. Had it gone poorly, the media would have worked itself into a rightous frenzy.

If insurgents had posted a video chopping off a purple dyed finger....we would have been bombarded with it for days....
