His opinion is the "norm" here in the states as well.
No offense gentlemen, but I'm GLAD you folks live where you do. |

Why is that? You dont like it when other people dont agree with you?
By the way, I'm very glad I live where I do as well.

Look here, brother. You believe that Michael Moore is feeding you absolute truth.
Duh.......
Did you go to that link I posted for you?
Yes, there is truth out there, but it isn't coming from Michael Moore any more than it's coming from Rush Limbaugh.
Take it all in, think for yourself. Stop getting only one side of the story and calling it a day. |

| Re: Uncovered: The War in Iraq Answer this: you see a man beating a child severely. It's not your child; you don't know either the man or the child; if you turn around and walk away, nothing bad will happen to you. However, you're more powerful than the man. You could do something about it. You could stop what's happening. It's none of your concern... but wait. Do you not have a responsibility to correct injustices when you have the power to do so?
Maybe some of you don't. Turn around, walk away. Pretend those bad men don't exist. Go on about your day and hopefully that bad man will never bother someone you do care about...
For the record, this thread seems to be going a little too much into USA vs. Australia. I'm taking every comment on an individual basis, regardless of country.

Did Hitler confine himself to Germany? Look a little more big-picture. I'll be one of the first to admit that the average American is probably less aware of what's happening outside our borders than most other nationalities. But when you have something like 9/11 happen, things change.
Or maybe we just want to steal all their oil. Yeah, that's probably it.

It's the government of the United States that makes these decisions. It's not just one man, the President. He can't do it by himself. I'm neither a Bush lover or Bush hater.

If we're over there for oil, why didn't we just take over Kuwait when we were there? Since we're such bullies and only after our own interests, it would have been both easy and possible, right?
No, the United States isn't some dove-white altuistic nation bent on pleasing the world. But we do have to take care of things that no one else can or will. Sorry if it rubs you the wrong way.

What things need taken care of? Saddam was no threat to anyone. A toothless tiger if you will. Like I said before, the idea that the US actually gave a **** about the Iraqi people is laughable.
Pleasing the world? More like telling the world what to do.

And if you've read most of my posts you would know that. I disagree with the republicans on many issues but in the case of Iraq I'm in agreement for the most part. I can't stand bullies and I'm glad the one who let his sons rape, torture, and enslave a nation is gone. Freedom is a good thing.
You and CB40² have a whiny tone about you...Is this how you want to be perceived? It is difficult to know one's tone on the internet so I could be wrong. |
