Anyone seen it?
Ive just finished watching it, extremely damning report.
It looks at the lies that were told in order to gain support to go to war. It doesnt speculate on the real reason Bush, Rumsfeld and Cheney were so keen to go to Iraq.
If you can get your hands on it, do. Its very interesting.
EDIT: One mention it makes is of this I think they suggest that it is a possible reason for Iraq, or atleast one of the driving forces. It seems Bush is a big fan.

Yeah, me guesses that they were trying to follow the rules eh? Quote:
Former chief U.N. weapons inspector Rolf Ekeus (search) says Saddam Hussein's regime offered him and other U.N. officials millions of dollars if they would alter their reports to suggest Iraq was following international law and free of illegal weapons. Ekeus tells Reuters that former Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Aziz (search) tried to bribe him, but he told the Iraqi official, "That is not the way we do business in Sweden."
Ekeus, who served from 1991 to 1997, says he has informed international investigators about the former Iraqi regime's offers.

| Re: Uncovered: The War in Iraq I'm not a Fox News watcher....but they do hold claim to a statistic that should give pause to inquiring minds on both the left and the right.
By a wide margin, they have had far fewer scandals than any other major news outlet.....whether it be for accuracy, bias or other cause.
You may or may not care for their slant, but their record for journalistic integrity has been thus far impeccable....
Flame away...

My point is simple. Just because you disagree with their take on events, does not make it any more or less right.
Try to open your mind....I'd say all of the news outlets are in it for one thing, making something newsworthy and increasing viewership. They will sell the story they think the public wants to hear.
Fox found there are those that want to hear the story told through more conservative glasses than other news stations. And, it's made them lots of money as they were right.

The creators gambled that there was an audience for news that was not slanted to the left, and they were correct.
Yes, they probably appear extreme...but ask yourself why...
Personally, they do not bother me...I can accept the fact that some people have different opinions of world events, and I am not afraid of their expression of those opinions....it's the cornerstone of a free press.
I would be more concerned if I lived where the media marches in lockstep...

| Re: Uncovered: The War in Iraq If you are interested in honest news listen to more than one and discount them all. They all shade things to some degree just as a person does (after all they are just people) For instance if you hear something from a Blue Sheep be ready for a conservative, catholic, pro-military and liberatarian slant. I could pretend it would not be there but I am what I am. As far as Fox they tend to have more conservative Republican reporters but do have some liberal Democrat reporters the big three tend to have a much poorer balance and none of the above have a regular reporter that leans liberatarian |

We get Foxnews on our cable TV so I am far from being "uninformed".
Also I am an American living in Australia so I do give a ****. Bush and Foxnews dont do anything good for the image of the US overseas.
Let me guess, you dont give a **** about any other countries opinion right? |

Nope!
Seriously, I don't give two shits about people who have nothing better to do than bash Bush and/or Fox News. It's simple minded horseshit propagated by bubble heads like Michael Moore, Maureen Dowd, and Al Franken.
Fact is, there is an element of truth on both sides of the fence. Those who stand around and point fingers at the other out of sheer laziness are of no use to me. |
