A. Liberate the Iraqis

B. Combat Terrorists

C. Look for weapons of Mass Destruction

We've been given any and all of these reasons at one time or another. I am confused.

Yes, but Iraq was obviously a hotbed. Where else are there so many attacks going on? Saddam was also taking care of these guys by providing weapons and funds. We're in Afghanistan as well, why aren't we being attacked there? Because they're in Iraq.

I am doubting that there was that many of them in iraq at the start of the war.

I dont disagree to help your neighbor, just not every time. The underdog needs to lose sometimes, without big brother stepping in to help win.

That very well may be true. But if your main supply lines and your home base are under attack and getting taken apart, would you not go back and defend it?

Yes but under what costs? I say that because I believe that terrorism is an ideaology and not a physical being. You can not defeat a idea. you can give suggestions but there will always be people that will beleive in the ideaology of terrorism, which in turn, there will always be terriorists.

Very true. However, empowering a nation to stand up for themselves and realize how stupid the guy walking around with a bunch of TNT or C4 strapped to his chest will make it much easier for these guys to be dealt with and much harder for terrorists to do damage.

The consequences of ending this war before Iraq has been stabilized are far worse than if we stay the course. Although I do believe the reasons for the start of this war were justifiable on several fronts but that is immaterial to the fact that we need to look forward. If the war ended today the terrorists will have won the war, strengthened their resolve to do us more harm, and the Iraqi people would be lambs led to slaughter.

I am all for Free Speech but all these peace-nicks are doing are giving the terrorists hope that we will lose resolve in this conflict. Unlike Vietnam where we quit and no great repercussions were felt other than a bruised national ego. To end this one early will surely mean the loss of American lives. If they would let our warrior class do its job we may come out of this ok.

But with the way they are bombing and killing, do you think they will never give up? I hope not. I do beleive that the bombings will lessen when we leave but they will still continue. I beleive now that we are in more danger than previously. They hated us before but now, I think they do much more.

This is not a war that we'll be done with anytime soon. It will easily take a generation or more. The current generation has to be educated and they need to start stepping into leadership roles so they can raise their kids without the hatred.

I understand that. In your opinion, how long do our troops stay there? The problem i have is how do we decide whenPull-Out is?

We don't. Stay there as long as we have to. Much better to fight a war on their turf than ours. The locals are getting tired of it steggie...they will start helping out soon enough.

This is a good point. In general AMERICANs have a realtively short memory. While Serbia and Croatia there where families that were in conflict for generations over something that they can't even remember. Remember the real reason we are there.
