| Paris Rioting You know, Bush caught hell about the Katrina rioting from foreigners, and Americans, too apathetic and ignorant to understand how our government works.
I wonder if there'll be public outrage at the constant rioting in Paris and now the 'burbs. Clearly, by their logic, Chirac is the problem, and the world should be calling for his head...right? |

| Re: Paris Rioting No, the rioting there is Bush's fault too.
Honestly though, it is quite interesting that the frenchies can't get it anywhere near controlled. Their police and armed forces are too scared to do anything about it, and would end up surrendering anyway.
The pussification of that entire continent is starting to bite them in the ass. I for one will continue to enjoy watching it happen.
The pols blame it on radical Islam, but don't have the balls to do a thing about it other than try to capitulate, which has never done anything but make it worse.

| Re: Paris Rioting So a herd of punks from a bad neighborhood comes to burn your car or house down, do you shoot them? Not if you are French because you turned in your gun so you could be safe

| Re: Paris Rioting On a serious note, I think we'll see more of this in Europe before it gets better.
They've been opening their borders and getting lots of immigrants. There is still nowhere in Europe that has diversity like the US. (the closest I've seen is in London)
They're dealing with problems we've had, and taken criticism for, for many many years.

They'll probably respond after the riot troops by spending more tax-payers' money on government-sponsored jobs, taxing those with productive jobs more to pay for them. Ho-hum.

They had to write letters and make a lot of phone calls to get her moved to a new host family... a nice suburban physician couple. Her father is probably taking legal action against the company. It was very traumatic for her. |

Karma's a bitch. | The difference is most people that come here want to be Americans thus while they frequently bring new ideas into our culture they all so get Americanized. Therefore our diversity is not segregation but integration (unfortunately this is being discouraged by the government in attempts to divide individuals into groups).

Perhaps they read your moose reference? Canadians from West of Francophone Canada do have a rural reputation, you know. Your uncle should have made clear she was of an urban disposition, France can be very, well, rural with a capital rrrr.
