| Why did Woodward lie? So why does a veteran journalist with his credibility lie to the American public so brazenly about the Plame leak....  My theory: Since the suspicion was focused so heavily on the White House, he lied to keep up the pressure.  Any other theories...

| Re: Why did Woodward lie? He appeared on Larry King, and denied that he knew of Plame's identity. When it became clear that he did indeed know it at that time, he admitted it, and apologized. I'm not really interested in more wholesale indictments of journos in general, as we've plowed that ground before. This thread is specifically to solicit opinions as to why Woodward lied in this case.
