Rape and beating in Winnipeg

Very sick disturbing story, especially for parents of young children.

Man leaves his 7 year old daughter alone with 34 y-o man... comes back to catch him brutally raping her. Beats the living **** out of the attacker, hospitalizing him. There is a bit of a debate now over whether he (the father) should be charged with assault. I don't even see how there could possibly be 2 sides to this debate, but whatever way it goes will set some precedents. I think the rapist deserves death, or castration at minimum. If the father were charged, I don't think there would be a jury in the country that would convict him.

Some other questions here:

WTF was he doing leaving her alone in the first place?

When is vigilante justice ok?

We have provocation laws in Canada, but they only apply to a murder... Basically they're in place to reduce a murder to a manslaughter. But there is nothing for an assault. It's looking unlikely that the police will charge him.

Probably not, if your lawyer asked for a jury trial. But you could.

I'm w/ BDA on this one. I'd of killed that ****er and enjoyed every second of it. Few things make me say such callous things, but harming a young girl is the lowest of low. Unfathomable IMO.

the daughter said the attacker didnt touch her below the waist but he is being charged with anal intercourse? she must not of understood. good thing for rape tests. That is an upsetting story. i dont know anyone who wouldnt have done the same thing

Here in California and in some other states the father would probably get charged with assault. And the charges might even stick. Plus the father would probably be charged with child endangerment and have his daughter taken away. And if the rapist could prove childhood abuse in his upbringing would probably get off and have to serve a bit of time in a mental health facility. So here in California, if confronted with such a heinous act just kill the bastard and claim self defense.

Very callous veiw, and in some ways justified. But even in Cali if you killed this man while raping your daughter you'd probably get no more than manslaughter. And even then, "temporary insanity" defense would come in very strong.

For only beating him I'm pretty sure the result would be about the same as the case in Canada. If not too bad, no jailtime.

See, regarding the father, I see this as falling under self defense. Being that the daughter is a minor, and legally under the protection of her father, he was defending his kin. No contest imho

Show some pictures of what he did to the seven year old face beating her, and I doubt any jury would convict. FWIW

This makes me both very sad and very very sick. This lowlife mother ****er needs to be drawn and quartered. If it were me...I would've killed this ****er...period.
