| Re: Foreign spies not needed This program is no secret. I almost forgot about it. I wonder about the program's true intent. It evidentally isn't about shooting down incoming missles. In today's world who is really going to use an ICBM to start a nuclear war? 9 Billion a year is chump change in the grand scheme of things. And it provides defense jobs for a bunch of folks. |

| Re: Foreign spies not needed This is no secret but it is also not widely publicized.
Congress is full of un believers. A lot of organizations have had to come out the closet lately. No longer is our congress filled with Vets that understand and appreciate the cloak of secrecy. Instead we have a bunch of pompas ass college educated pansies that think they f*ckin' know it all and want to assert their power on these programs which allow us all to sleep well at night. And preserve our right to bitch about such things. So, the threaten to with hold funding unless they have a dog and pony show about some sort of progress or a 3 day conference on you stating why funding should continue.
Should be a requirement, must have honorably served in one our services to run, or been medically relieved of this responsibility. This way we won't end up with some Oxford educated, draft dodger in the White House again. |

| Re: Foreign spies not needed Actually the part(s) I was referring to is:
1 Test results
2 Assessment of readiness
3 Fielded quantities
The fact that congress gets info and demo's I have no problem with. However they and the news should show a small f***ing bit of restraint on distribution of details. When Russia (or insert other) misses on something they act like they meant to. Our best hope is that most members of congress have the technical know how of Dow the dog and thus are to stupid to pass much.

That would be my guess. | I don't know about that. I really don't think we know the story here. |

In it they leave no doubt that Sun-Tzu was a real man, and had a "school". They do leave open that parts of the texts translated could have been penned by students of his school.
I pulled it out for a sanity check...time for a new sig.

| Re: Foreign spies not needed I know there are some that think the writings are from a conglomeration of philosophers, and that he was a "character" tied to those philosophies.
I guess there are no solid facts either way. |

Perhaps this one is more fitting for the thread at hand?
" Do not depend on the enemy not coming, but depend on our readiness against him." I've never actually heard anyone say that Sun Tzu wasn't a real person. Though, in the afterword of the version I have the writer does speak of another strategist from Wu who some have said wrote most of what was eventually attributed to Sun Tzu when his writings were translated 200+ years ago. |

| Re: Foreign spies not needed What are people worried about? Chuck Norris can defend us against any form of attack. His body is so tough he can absorb all the radiation from an atomic blast and **** out Uranium rods for our reactors.
And if some of you think that secrets are not being kept about our military and readiness think again. The missle defense shield stuff is a gimme to the media and others. We may never know what is really going on. |

Good lord.....................
Yeah, they should make public anouncements every morning on national tv about our military and readiness. It's only fair that everybody in the world know. |
