Damn... this is bad. Basically BBV sued to get the audit logs of all the voting machines (developed by Sequioa Voting Systems) revealing
significant errors in accuracy.
Things like votes being recorded on a machine months before the election, and then being tallied into the real count (and these were not early voting machines, either)... votes being cast at 1 AM and other strange times when the polls were closed... error logs rampant with software error codes, the list goes on.
To make it worse, the systems do not have a paper trail. I have ALWAYS thought these things were a bad idea... Scantrons really are the way to go, IMO. The ones we use in San Diego are pretty much idiot-proof, and there is a physical piece of paper that has a tear-off receipt you get to keep.
