NSA Probe Ends Abruptly

It would seem that if the NSA doesn't want to be investigated, all it has to do is deny the lawyers doing the investigating the clearances they would need.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/05/....ap/index.html

To be fair, this story is a little stranger than that. It seems it's not the lawyers doing the investigating, but some kind of DoJ "Internal Affairs" team that can't get cleared. This in turn had the investigation stopped.

WTF?!?!?

navyd,

all clearance processing has been put on hold indefenitely. Defense Security Service stopped accepting clearance request. They have run out of money to process the thousands they receive.
