I saw on the local news that "creams, lotions, lipgloss", etc., must be packed in your luggage. No carry on bags can have any possibility of explosives. NewsChannel5 reported passengers flying internationally out of Cleveland and other domestic airports should not pack any liquid, lotions or hair gel in their carry-on bags. Looks like nude flying passengers pretty soon.
Kudos to the UK authorities! |

Those peace lovers never cause any grief. It is always Israel's - oh, oops let me intentionally misspell it because I'm just so damned cool and always right - Isreal's fault. Those damned Jews never belonged in the middle east, so we should just remove them all again. They have no right to be there, my 60 year deep history book tells me so. |

| Re: Terror Plot Foiled!! OK, a few things about this -
1) It doen't seem to me that they actually found any bomb material, just plans and intent.
2) TSA and the UK's backlash is pretty crazy. NO carry-on luggage in the UK, and no key-fobs (think car keys) on your person.
SuperDave is right... how long until it's nude flights for everyone? Dont forget the anal cavity search performed by some huge TSA worker named Ursula.
Last year, the US alone had 11.1 billion flights. If 10 of those get blown up with a bomb, it is STILL much safer than going out on the street to drive to work.
Tragic, yes. But why the double standard? Why don't we have breathalyzers on every car? Why do we let ourselves get whipped into this frantic paranoia? |

| Re: Terror Plot Foiled!! Because it's easier to sit there, and take unjustified, nonsensical sarcastic stabs at people regarding past political debates.
The thing I found by far the most obnoxious was no carry on luggage.
Damn. That would be terrible on a long flight. I absolutely need books, my laptop (though leaving that wouldn't kill me, checking it in luggage would leave me panic stricken), food, water and some form of music to make it. Take these things away from people, and I promise, you'll see air rage incidents increase.

| Re: Terror Plot Foiled!! The best I've seen is the security leaving Puerto Vallarta. A uniformed Mexican opens your suitcase in front of you, takes a quick scan of the top layer (phew!, sure glad I covered my bomb with that pair of underwear) and zip it back up. Unless you're brown, like the well-dressed Indian chap in the line next to us, then they root through the whole thing. |

| Re: Terror Plot Foiled!! Those measures will be tapered back soon.. According to the highly accurate news reports, the authorities think there are more suspects out there, and I'm sure they have instituted these draconian carry-on rules to prevent the at-large desperados from getting on any plane to anywhere and detonating their toothpaste with their key fob.
Thanks to the Pakastani government on the tip that stopped these scum from murdering thousands.
I hope the news stops focusing on the whining passengers who have been inconvenienced (though somewhat less than they would have been... ) and turns its attention to yet another Radical-Islamist act of war on Europe. But I'm not holding my breath. |

But when somehow phone records or Israel enters the topic, it's tripe. |

| Re: Terror Plot Foiled!! Oh, poor babies. Can't take the innocent snide remarks, but everyone MUST listen to and take your comments 100% seriously.
We should sit back and let 10 flights each year get blown up. That's the right idea!! No more security at all, just let whomever with whatever on all flights.
Actually, I don't care. Statistcally that would mean those that fly more would have more chance of getting killed. I prefer to drive, as the "flyover country" is far more interesting than the non-"flyover country" anyway.
If the sissified ass party members would allow searching for terrorists rather than the idiotic method of searching for weapons we wouldn't have this problem.
Had the ass party not pushed for a unionized and federalized TSA we wouldn't be crying our eyes out over not being able to take out hair gel in our carryon luggage. |

We were discussing at work common chemicals carried by ladies that can be used after this was announced. Now this is a room with some sharp folks and varied training but not super geniuses or anything so it can't be that hard to figure. In the words of one co-worker "Home Depot and Wal Mart are the most dangerous stores in the country". |
