This race has seen (CA) Sen. Chuck Poochigian trailing Brown, but a suit was recently filed against Brown, alleging he is not qualified to hold the office.

"No person shall be eligible to the office of attorney general unless he shall have been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the state for a period of at least five years immediately preceding his election or appointment to such office."

Brown had long been inactive in the BAR but rejoined in 2003, some pundits claim this is when he was approached about running for AG.
