By the way, we were the ones who pushed the North Vietnamese into the communist arena. We took the French back to Vietnam, despite that fact that were where absolutely horrible colonists. The Vietmanese had no choice other than the Russians and Communism if they wanted to throw off French rule.
When the French left, de Gaul said that I would take a half million men, and even then the country couldn't be conquered. We had a half million, and it did not happen. Perhaps we could have won it had we evaporated the North in a nuclear conflagration, but everyone would have lost in such a scenario.
The Vietnam war is eerily reminiscent to the Iraqi war. The South Vietnamese did not like their own government, and I am not certain to what degree the Iraqi government is seen as American hirelings by the Iraqis. In both we are fighting insurgents who have a tremendous home field advantage. In both the war is motivated by false premises (Domino effect in Vietnam, terrorism in Iraq) which has lead to diminsihed support at home. Remember, our military is quite limited in their actions, as popular support can be affected by apparent atrocities and rising body counts, something our military knows all too well.
And to those bitching about Liberal Democrats, I am sick and tired of troglodite rednecked bible-thumping non-thinking jingoistic fascist anti-intellectual reactionary Republicans, and I am seriously looking forward to the a$$-wooping you guys will get next month. You should watch that sh*t, it cuts both ways. | Baaa ??? 9 of10 surveyed say decaf is just as tasty as the real thing. |

| One of the better points you've added to a political debate. Add to that Operation Red Fox (he lost his balls and called it off citing he didn't want to fight during Ramadan. ), and Clinton spending US poltical capital in the ME preparing for an invasion which he never did, opening up our ME allies to attacks by locals for collaborating with us, but we didn't have troops there to defend them, and you see the truly horrible mess in the ME Clinton handed to Bush. Even before 9/11. Clinton really messed up things in the ME, he burned all the goodwill we'd earned under Senior.
I don't have the time to go pull all the quotes out of the book like I did a couple years ago here on the site, but one of Clinton's advisors on ME policy layed it all out in The Threatening Storm. |

Because that, my brother, is what they are doing.

First of all...most of the Republicans you are speaking about are NOT as you have described.
I am NOT a troglodite redneck. I live in SoCal and make $200,000 a year combined income with my wife. I have a double-major degree in MIS and Political Science. I make more money in a year than most people make in 3 or 4 years. I'm not bragging. I'm just letting you and anyone else like you know that you stereotyped a large group of people incorrectly.
Yes...I am a christian and believe in God. So does 75% of the United States including Democrats. So....you're making fun of a large majority.
If we get an ass whooping as you so ignorantly stated, then so be it. I can guarantee you one thing, on my life, that the Dems will NOT get enough seats to make a difference. Like I stated earlier in this little debate - it takes 2/3 majority in congress to overide a veto. YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANYWHERE NEAR THAT AMOUNT. YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANY MORE POWER THAN YOU HAVE NOW!

You give a stereotype, you get one. Just because you make what you do does not mean you're any more intelligent than anyone else. Your comments were just insulting, untrue, and deragatory. The way to truth does not involve belittling others. You will get as good as you give.
I honestly didn't mean what I wrote, but I think one good stereotype deserves another. That was bait, and you bit into it, allowing this reposte'. Obviously many different people think many different things about politics, and just because I don't agree with some does not make me any better than anyone else, nor does it make them any better or worse than me. It makes us all different, which is fine by me. That makes the world a more interesting place.
And if the Democrats do indeed win out, which I hope they do, you can kiss the President's moronic agenda goodbye. THAT IS A RATHER BIG PHUCKING DIFFERENCE. I would rather have that idiot be a true lame duck than have him damage this excellent country with his pathetic leadership any more than he has. And many, many Americans feel similarly to me about the President's abilities, both Democrat and Republican. |

Just because you are passionate about your feelings doesn't give them any more or less validity than someone else's . . . |

And many, many Americans feel similarly to me about the President's abilities, both Democrat and Republican. | You crack me up. You must have A.D.D. or A.D.H.D. or some other form of I DON'T READ OR LISTEN syndrome. I said RIGHT AFTER I mentioned my salary that I was NOT bragging. What part of that don't you understand. You must be a victim of the public school system.
My comments were just insulting, untrue, and derogatory? WTF??? You need to go back and read your previous comments. If ANYONE was insulting, untrue, and derogatory - it's a person that calls ALL Republicans rednecks, bible beaters, etc. Your acting like a hypocrite. Typical liberal Jedi mind fuc*ing! Do as I say...not as I do. Typical, typical, typical....you people never change. No matter what the story, cause, or purpose of the hour is!
You certainly DID mean what you wrote. You're so full of sh** that you are believing your own lies!
If the President's moronic agenda is the TOTAL destruction of the terrorists no matter where they are - I say do it. Do it with nukes, do it with whatever we have in our incredible arsenal. Do it NOW. Take out all of them.
One more thing....this country is EXCELLENT because we are free....free or terrorism, free of car bombs, free of suicide bombers, free of ALL of the things that other countries are strapped with. Why??? Because our President will blow them to hell... and they KNOW IT.
You liberals want freedom - as long as it's YOUR version. You defend the 1st amendment and **** on the 2nd amendment as if YOUR cause is better than "their" cause. If YOUR freedoms are imposed upon, oh hell....it's the president's fault, the republican's fault, the church's fault, the NRA's fault, Fox News' fault, Rush Limbaugh's fault, Sean Hannity's fault...... and many more. You never take blame for your own actions.
You watch......you wait..... if the Democrats take over Congress and they stop Bush's anti-terror policies, we WILL BE ATTACKED AGAIN. Then who will you blame? Can't blame Bush - even YOU said he will be LAME DUCK. There has been not ONE attack on this country by terrorists since 9-11 thanks to our "cowboy" President's policies. You just watch....we will be attacked again and the liberal trash will blame BUSH.
