Re: An Inconvenient Truth

What does running a car in your garage have to do with the planet? I take it your assumption was the earth is a "closed system"?

With respect to energy, the earth is most certainly an open ecosystem. NOT closed.

Open your garage door and run your truck...might get a bit closer to reality...

I got bored when the temp only went up about 5 degrees F. Now maybe if you shrink wrapped the vehicle the temperature rise would be more significant . . .

Re: An Inconvenient Truth

A case was presented to the Supreme Court today to determine if greenhouse gases (CO2 mainly) constitute pollutants. Labled as such the EPA would then be allowed to regulate them under the Clean Air Act. A decision will be made next year.

As an environmentalist, I believe the worst thing that happened to environmentalism was politics getting involved. Specifically, the extremes at both ends who go so far to push their agendas that the initial ideas of environmentalism and conservation become lost in the fight.

P.S. While I think tougher greenhouse restrictions can be a good thing, I wouldn't give that power to the EPA.

So the EPA will be in charge of breathing. So all you will be fined for heavy breathing

Speaking of breathing, with each breath you are one breath closer to your last ... so conserve those breaths, maybe even take a break for a while

This ought to be interesting. Lets, see there's what . . . 5 billion or so co2 production machines on the planet and last time I checked, they usually run pretty much all the time. If the Supreme Court labels their exhaust as a pollutant, I fear the worst for the current dominant species on this planet (as well as most life forms that live here).
