Totally. Our confirmation process has become a mockery of what was intended.

Is anyone really surprised by this? I mean, he was a recess appointment to begin with.

But it would seem that the inner cabal at the white house is losing cohesion.

Its not a suprise but Bush was really trying to get him confirmed...despite all the opposition.

Bolton was smart to resign.

I think it had little to do with Bush, and much more to do with the fact he knew the disgrace Congress would do him after a demo midterm win.

Both sides are guilty of this travesty.

Appointees are that, appointees. The confirmation is supposed to be about making sure the guy is competent...no more or less.

Instead they have lately become nasty political gaming.
