It's not that we shouldn't have relations with Israel, but we're so one-sided in our allegiances in that part of the world that it's impossible for us to be effective moderators.

OK...Thanks. My problems run a bit sideways from that, but I agree completely that we are one-sided in that region...I understand why, both from a historical and ideological perspective, so that issue bothers me less (or, rather it is a subordinate issue to the greater one) than just having diplomatic relations with a religious state...Any religious state.

Until they start acting like human beings and treating the Arabs the same, then I personally don't think anyone should be talking to them or supplying them with hi-tech weapon systems.

But that's just me, as the Israeli situ is really starting to make me sympathize with the atrocities committed in Israel as justified, and that's a terrible place to be, and 100% F.U.B.B.
