Well since you have asked. I've been rebuilding a BMW F650 motor, big job, bit of machining on the crankcases, reshim to centralise the crankshaft, new main bearings, new gearbox and balancer shaft bearings, new clutch inner drum, new oil pump rotors, new third gear, plus the usual gaskets, seals, circlips etc. Finally got it all back together last weekend and the bike runs as sweet as a nut. Very pleased with myself.
Except midway through the week I had this panic attack when I remembered I hadn't bent over the tab washer on the clutch nut. Arghhhhhhhh, the nut might fall off at any moment (actaully unlikely cus of the three F650 motors I've stripped, I've failed to get the nut off every time - ended up chain drilling the nut and smashing it off with a hammer and chisel). Anyway, I had to put the tab washer right.
So this weekend, back in the garage, up on the bench. All body work off, drain fluids, tank off, clutch cover off, clutch off, tap washer duly bent over and restore clutch and cover. Whilst I'm in there I thought I'd tidy up a few things. Re-wired the heated grips, rewired the headlight (dip/main switch was reversed for some reason), refitted the Scotoiler, replaced a fuel hose that had become hardened.
Finally finished tonight. Bike fired up, everything as it should be. That is until I switched on the headlight.
Full beam is fine with the blue indicator light illuminated. Dipped beam not so good . Not as bright as it should be, and the main beam indicator is still illuminated but just ever so slightly. Grrrrrrrrr. So obviously some wiring fault in the harness somewhere.
So next weekend it will be back in the garage, body work off and start investigating. I hate f*cking motorcycles. Really, really hate them
That's what has pissed me off today. Thankyou for listening.

haha I put that up after I read about the guy asking if his speedo was accurate. but I guess it fits here pretty well.
no need to be sorry. its part of the job. the problem is the regional head of distribution for starbucks will come down extremely hard on the stores if they are doing anything to make the delivery guys job harder. but once she comes down it gets fixed for a little bit then they go back to doing what they were doing before.
we have our own way of getting back at these people though. one of the best is if a store pisses us off we'll take their whole paper (cups and cleaning products) order and pile it up around the managers desk so they can't get to their computer. They come in the next morning and have to move it before they can begin the day. its funny because their bosses are on our side and we don't technically work for them even though we sort of have to follow what they say since its their stores.

no offence, but when i was working in grotten ct, the people around there were complete asses for the most part. i did some venturing out to check out the area, and it seems like the better part of the northern population are pricks. |

Too small a sample size, I think. |

Quick! What are you doing March 9 and 10?????? Its only 4 hours away from you and there will be some not so mean "Northerners" there

But now the clutch is dragging. So tonight (maybe) it's drain fluids, clutch cover off and investigate. I suspect I've done something stupid like put the plates back in the wrong order. Grrrrrrrrrr.
Still hate motorcycles, but ask me again next week. |

NESBA or TPM that weekend. Dont let leathers scare you away. If you have a full circumference 2pc textile or 1pc suit you can still run in the beginner group with TPM(I'll check to see about NESBA) Quote:

-jh | I signed up as a member over on the team pro web site. a guy found me a set of A* leathers on another site, but i have not called on the deails yet. all i know is that they are red black and white, which does not match my bike at all, but for 200 i might have to pick them up just to have them. i looked into the try the track promo, but i am still undecided. We will give it some closure so that you guys would find it to be too much trouble to unsubscribe from it don't get an email about it anymore. What we'll remember most about this thread is how it gave people a place to come and vent about anything that was bothering them... including those who cried about getting the emails, oh wait... my complaint just revived it.... sorry you will all get an email letting you know that it is still alive and well. |

Think this thread needs closure?? | No closing this thread...As sure as Death, Taxes, and Masturbation, people have something that pissed them of today, every today, and this provides a nice outlet.
Today, I have a bottle of Chateau D'Yquem Sauternes that I want to drink, but my wife (a teatotaler) will really jump my **** if I come home hammered...This is a French dessert wine, from 2001, that cost me and a buddy $450.00. We split it, and saved up over 2-months for it. You know, the envelope thing? I put in what I might spend on a bottle or two of wine every week for 2-months, my best friend did the same, and we picked it up yesterday. It is appropriately chilled, but will not last more than a day or so after opening it.
Drinking this wine is like drinking "blonde" as in the woman. The complexity, beauty, and all the varieties of character, flavor, softness, and light that is a blonde, can be found in this wine. It has a reasonably high natural alcohol content, but drinks like slightly syrupy white grape juice, while not being sicky-sweet. Freaking incredible. |
