| Re: What one thing pissed you off, today? Be careful there, Lucky. It's a great compliment for someone to say they'd like to be you 'figuratively speaking'. But when it comes from individuals who are happy to admit they're living in a 'world' quite different from your own, things can get really weird...
Maybe you need to have a few friends around more often as a sort of safety in numbers thing.
I find it hard to understand why the police can't be given a little more power with such matters. Perhaps if they were allowed to keep an arms length eye on them until they stop messing about or actually attempted to do something. Then they'd be closer to hand to control the situation. |

| Re: What one thing pissed you off, today? Ok, back to the point of this thread (although I'm sure Lucky's pissed off with her stalker).
Today I had to dash home to meet a guy who's supposed to be fixing my upstairs toilet, only to find after one hour of him bumming around that he doesn't have the parts needed.
Now 1 guy has visited my place twice over the last month telling me he has to order the part from Bangkok and then he sends someone else who's also telling me it going to take another week b/c they have to order from Bangkok. I've been living in this place for 10 months now and I've had about 4 months of decent running water in the upstairs bathroom.
Mind you, I shouldn't be too surprised. It took them 2 months to replace the sink tap with with a type that is in plentiful supply here in Phuket. AHHHHHH! |

| Re: What one thing pissed you off, today? My ****ing ex-wife decided it was another day for her to do her nagging. Bitching about my girlfriend and her being around my son when he is with me. But yet it's ok for her man to be around him just about every day and in 9 months my son has been around my lady once and tomorrow will only be the second time since she has had him brainwashed and not wanting to be around her.
Some people just need to be locked in a padded room.

WASHINGTON - Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan could cost as much as $2.4 trillion through the next decade, according to a new analysis Wednesday that the White House brushed off as "speculation."
The analysis, by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, provides the most comprehensive and far-reaching estimate to date, taking into account costs previously not counted and assuming large number of forces would remain in the regions.
According to CBO, the U.S. has spent about $600 billion to date on both wars, including $39 billion in diplomatic operations and foreign aid.
600 billion to date... 2.4trillion over the next decade.. But I agree with your point.. No where not getting or money's worth... |

| Re: What one thing pissed you off, today? I guess you need to assign a $ value to "stability" in the middle east. Then you need to decide if the war has made it better or worse? If the area degenerated into full scale war and the cost of oil was $500 or $1000 per barrell then things might be a whole lot worse. War is funny business and I do mean "business" |

War is funny business and I do mean "business" | I totally agree... The middle east is far more important than Iraq... I supported the war and still do,its just impossible to police the whole nation in Iraq... I just hope our troops are being properly funded... They ALL need to have the right gear for the job... To many IED's killing people.. GI's deaths are down... Just hope some stability comes in the near future and that Turkey doesn't go into the Kurdish region after the PKK.. Even though they need to be gotten rid of.. Its sad that the US can't work with Turkey and take care of the PKK.. |

| Re: What one thing pissed you off, today? Hey Getsome, I was one of those kids (along with my bro) when my parents decided to devorce (twice!). In our case, both got in on the brainwashing act; so much so that in the end we had to tell 'em to give a rest. It wasn't as if we couldn't see it.
If I were you, try not talking to your kid about this. Don't get in on the act or heated (i know it's bloody hard) and don''t say anything negative about your ex. Remember she is his mum so anything negative at the moment will just be appear to be supporting what your ex is probably saying about you.
However, if all he hears is her dishing out the negativity about you and your girlfriend, but only hears and sees you guys being interested about him and what he's doing/ wants to do, he'll come around for himself. Sometimes the best way to win a game (and it is a game) is not to play.
Maholi, if Turkey wants to deal with its own terrorist problem it can. You guys did and you didn't care what other nations thought of you steaming into another country (no, I'm not bashing the decision to do so, just pointing out the similarity).
America's got its hands full anyway right now with very little support from the rest of the 'allied' nations - in fact, only the Brits, Dutch and one or two others are actually engaging the enemy at all. You're already stretched pretty thin and it's far wiser to keep something in reserve for when you really do need it. Other countries have already begun to test the waters by antagonising your government b/c they think your reserves are low, too. |

Stability in the mid-east is the ultimate goal and I hope/think it is achievable. I'm just not sure that we have chosen the most efficient way to go about this. You don't win wars by being nice...or at least don't call it a war.
I don't have a better idea but one final word on the topic: Thanks to our troops for serving our country and good luck to all of you! |

UGH!!! Thank you!
For a while, our group had the HP (that's highway patrol for those of you playing at home) out for us because we would always rip down the canyon and due to the nature our bikes, the canyon residents constantly called the police on us. However, the canyon has just as many Harley's in it that go slower and yet are still louder.
I can't begin to tell you how much this disparity pissed me off ... |

| Re: What one thing pissed you off, today? I'm pissed off that I can average 90% in all of my classes including pharmacology, cardiology, gastroenterology, evidence based medicine, etc. but in my B.S. Nutrition class that should be good general information I just came out of taking a test that I'll be lucky if I even pass because the two main professors pull out the stupidest, most random facts ever. One of the questions didn't even have the right answer as an option.
The question: What are top 5 causes of death in order in 25-64 year olds?
The answers:
A. Cancer, Heart Disease, Suicide/Depression, HIV, Motor Vehicle Accidents
B. Heart Disease, Cancer, HIV, MVA's, Suicide/Depression
C. MVA's, Heart Disease, Cancer, HIV, Suicide/Depression
D. Heart Disease, HIV, Cancer, Suicide/Depression, MVA's
E. Heart Disease, Cancer, Suicide/Depression, MVA's, HIV
According to her lecture, I memorized the following: Cancer, Heart Disease, MVA's, Suicide/Depression, Stroke.
Stoke wasn't even included in any of the answers, HIV wasn't ever in the lecture. I don't know why the entire Preventative Med/Nutrition department is incompetent. That question is just one example of the nonsense that we put up with from them.
