This here is, I believe, your problem. Your assumption is wrong. I'd love to see a study into this. The economic benefits afforded the US from "illegal" immigrants vs the cost of controlling said people. Would be an interesting read.

Id predict a cost/benefit analysis would show the "illegals" are a good thing for the US economy.

Aye. It would seem one of the strengths of the US economy is its supply of cheap labour. Even service orientated economies require cheap labour.

No doubt. But remember, that "cheap" US labor is actually an unauthorized import. Real US workers are far too expensive, hence the over-seas outsourcing of so many jobs...Sad, really.
