An excellent letter....

Got this in my email just now..........I can identify with the viewpoint of housewife from New Jersey on so many levels........

Here's one woman who is telling it like it is...in her opinion!

Written by a housewife from New Jersey and sounds like it! This is one
pissed off lady.

"Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not
started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11,
2001 ? Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not
brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan , across the Potomac
from our nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania ? Did nearly
three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or
crushing death that day, or didn't they?

And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was "desecrated" when
an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet?...Well, I don't.
I don't care at all.

I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for
incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.

I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start
caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in
Saudi Arabia .

I'll care when these thugs tell the world they is sorry for hacking off
Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed
throat.

I'll care when the cowardly so-called "insurgents" in Iraq come out and
fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in
mosques.

I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of
nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide
bombs.

I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First
Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead
of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an
Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care.

When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have
been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest
assured: I don't care.

When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not
to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the
bank: I don't care.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat,
and fed "special" food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is
complaining that his holy book is being "mishandled," you can absolutely
believe in your heart of hearts: I don't care.

And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled "Koran" and
other times "Quran." Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and -you guessed it -I don't
care ! ! ! ! !

If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this on to all your e-mail
friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this
ridiculous behavior!

If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you
choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities
committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great country! And may I
add:

"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a
difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem."

Ronald Reagan

I have another quote that I would like to add AND.......I hope you
forward all this.

"If we ever forget that we're One Nation Under God, then we will be a
nation gone under." also by...

Ronald Reagan

One last thought for the day:

In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the anti-American
sentiment and negativity, we should remember England 's Prime Minister
Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his
Parliament members why he believes so much in America , he
said:

"A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want
in... And how many want out."

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:

1. Jesus Christ
2. The American G. I.

One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO PASS THIS ON, AS MANY SEEM TO FORGET BOTH OF THEM.
AMEN!

Re: An excellent letter....

I agree with the lady 100% as a matter of fact my stance on it is to make a nice hole in the earth there and just be done with it (women, children write them off as a casualty of war.. yeah its like that), or take it over and make it part of the US.
Sadly fact is, sending this letter along while inspiring will do nothing. Its as useful as the don't get gas on the 15th email that was sent around (and I'm sure we'll see again). As long as there is a political gain from war there is no reason to just go in there fuk them up like the superpower we are and come home. Its headline news and lining many political figure's pockets with gold.

Oh ya all the media celebrity types like to make fun of their respective governments and piss and moan about war casualties. But if we weren't bringing the fight to the radical Muslim then were would the fight be? I could say a whole lot more about it but that would be a religious discussion.

Exactly...Jesus didn't die for my sins, he was killed for his own. And his followers pulled a "Weekend-at-Bernies" to add to his mystique...

I am all up for thanking the American GI...Many of my buddies are no longer with us, and I thank them for their service.

Of course, hailing the Hollywood Prez as something greater than he was is a bit sad...

What a great observation that is. Tourism in North Korea is hardly "booming" The next few years will be interesting - Bush will be gone, Blair is already gone and Howard from Australia looks to be gone... New faces same game.

Re: An excellent letter....

I have reread the letter, and found it offensive. It is that "lack of care" that got us into a fraudulently undertaken war, insinuated us into the internal affairs of nearly every nation on the planet. People should care, because only then can we really address why people half a world away, some living in caves with no running water, no cars, no Tv or anything material at all, and some very cosmopolitan, educated, and politically savvy folks are all so willing to die to make their point...That is what we need to care about...You will never change anyone's mind about things by beating them up...Get god, jesus, mohammad, and all the religion stuff out of politics, international affairs, and interpersonal relations, and get it back into the church, temple, mosque, and home, where it belongs.

Re: An excellent letter....

Personally I think this lady sums up what is wrong with the US and its attitude on this sort of thing.

1 - She struggles to separate terrorist from the rest of the Muslim world.
Showing respect for the Koran is about respecting another culture and religion. When it comes out that US forces have mistreated this book it isnt just an insult to the owner of that individual book, but to a larger group.

2 - The whole "they started it" attitude and using it to justify actions.
If you are suppose to be showing the way then lead by example and make it a good example. Humiliating prisoners might only be equivalent to a college hazing but its a terrible example to show to the rest of the world.

And people from the US wonder why the rest of the world looks down on them. Its because of exactly this sort of "I dont care" attitude.
If you dont care then sit at home and dont care - dont go shooting and bombing your way around the world and then say "I dont care what happens". If you take prisoners then you are responsible for how they are treated. Doesnt matter what some terrorist did, you are supposedly a civilised country and should act with decency.
Having a population that is brainwashed into thinking "towel head" and "nuke it all to glass" is pathetic. You should care how your country acts, how your soldiers act and how this makes you look.
Im not saying you have to suck up to terrorists or regimes. But at least act with some class and dignity, not with a "we got the biggest guns so screw you" attitude.

I dont blame the soldiers. They have a terrible job to do. But they need to be shown leadership in terms of dealing with these people and cultures.

So yes - its a great letter. It makes it clear what is wrong with the attitude of the US.

Here is the problem: This "war on Terror" is not a fixed-piece war like all the others we haave fought. This is a battle of opinion, ideology, influence, and economics, and we are not going to stop the people who are killing us by trying to kill them...You can't change a persons beliefs and opinions and faith and mind by beating them up...You just make them more resolute and you prove their point...See, they don't really care about us, they just want their self-determination back. They don't want a secular Aristocratic/Royal, or Oligarchical, or Despotic government, they want a spiritual program based on Islam. Now, just like we have crazy Liberals in this country, and crazy Conservatives in this country, the folks in the middle east have the same; but theirs are so disenfranchized, so marginalized, so powerless, that the only way they can get their message out is by killing...Mostly with suicide attacks. Lop their heads off? We wouldn't know where to start, and as soon as we kill one of the people who we think is "bad," there are 10 more to join the anti-American ranks. I am purposefully avoiding putting Iraq in this, because there is no legitimate journalist, commentator or scholar who believes that Iraq was part of any anti-American activity, sentiment, or action...Until we invaded. At this point, those folks just want us out, and with the possible exception of Vietnam, that Iraq debacle is the greatest single blunder in US history...We should not have invaded. Period. But, we are definitely not going to win hearts and minds across that nation or the rest of the world until we, as a nation, put down our fighting-fists and try the one thing Americans seem both unwilling and perhaps unable to do: Listen.

I am not saying we should forget our dead, nor am I saying we should gratuitously forgive those conducted the terroristic-killings...But, we will face this problem literally forever unless we do one of two things: Kill everyone we "suspect" of being a Muslim...And their children; or, listen to the deeper complaint of the terrorist. Nobody seems to get the idea that these suicide bombers are some educated, smart, and clearly literate folks for the most part, NOT cave dwelling troglodites. What could motivate people like us, middle class folks with some technological savvy, to blow up ourselves and innocent children, immigrants, and simple workers to make political and idealogical point? It just isn't the god thing, although that is clearly their payoff...

I'll agree with half of what you are saying... actually I'll bump that to 100% but i don't think that killing them all and their children should be an option that we don't look at and deeply consider!
