I live in a city whihc houses thousands of Canadian soldiers who have taken turns over the past several years trying to bring peace to Afghanistan. An Afghanistan which your American political/war machine screwed up. Weekly, coffins are welcomed home filled with the bodies of MY brothers and sisters who have given their lives trying to fix YOUR mistakes.
Your comments are beyond offensive. That is why the rest of the world hates America. I can assure you there is ZERO jealousy.
That is absolutely all I have to say about this. | Got news for you monster twin, I am a Canadian and a proud one. It doesn't sound like you knew that by your response so I'm going to forget about the arrogant and slap thing. For your information I'm well aware of what is going on in Afghanistan and the fact we have lost 73 soldiers to date. I have also been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion longer than most guys on this site are old. I have attended every Remembrance Day service and paraded as long as I can remember. My son is also in the Canadian Army Reserves. I live across from Detroit and have many American friends and relatives who are great people. It just bothers me that trashing the President and Americans in general is one of our passtimes and I won't tolerate it in my company. Afghanistan may very well be a lost cause which is unfortunate but it is a different war than Iraq. Canada's roll there is part if NATO although we seem to be the largest contributer there. You're certainly entitled to your feelings and it sounds like you may have lost someone close and that's understandable and I am sorry. Personally I support Soldiers from all Countries in their mission. When I spoke of jelousy, I was referring more to the enemies we face today, the Muslim extremists. I should have been more clear. |

You have a point here but things happen much faster in the modern world. The wheels turn much faster, watch out for China. |

it must be asked what the long term effect of toxic goods being manufactured in China (lead based paint on childrens toys) will have on their economy? |

Yes there are a lot of idiots that voted Bush in. People that vote party lines and turn a blind eye to all the wrong that has been done here.... Inflation is high, yet we are also in a simultaneous recession, cost of living has more than doubled yet pay has stayed pretty stagnant, with all kinds of signs of a 1929 great depression event happening soon, plus add in the nightmare that is Bush's foreign policy, AND adding going to war with 2 countries with no real gameplan on finishing and resolving.... We have a stright out clusterf*ck. I'm not a fan of the liberals OR the conservatives. Realistically neither party really supports the common middle class or even lower class man. They represent certain groups that pay them shitloads of money.
I did not vote Bush in. I dont believe he was voted in the first time neither. I dont believe his hands were completely clean with 9/11. I believe that Diebold company that is extremely diehard Republican rigged the election. I believe we have had our rights sacrificed (anyone remember the good old days of Habeous Corpus?) and that this present administration should be impeached. After all if its good enough for lying about a blowjob it should be good enough for lying to get us into war.
The only real difference between Carter and Bush I see is that Carter was a good man, made a difference in foreign policy, but still had poor domestic policies and pissed off the military. Bush is not a good man, has the worst foreign policy pretty much ever, domestic policy is extremely poor (You're doing a good job Brownie!), and he is on the road to pissing off the military. Basically he's worse than worthless, and everything hes done has only benefited himself or his direct large supporters.
I see the upcoming camp of Republicans though and not too damned many look all that redeeming and some are just as scary as Bush Jr. Democrats arent too great either.
I'm voting Bull Moose. |

China is now by far and away the Industrial leader. We outsourced all our crap and have become a nation of middle men. China is a force that is very very scary, and could conceivably become THE economic power and superpower in the next 50 years.
Lead based toys coming across the ocean? Oh so sorry! We fix and give next shipment free of charge!
After all they are the cheapest now, and if there is anything US CFOs and officers love is cheap above all else! |

But I can't accept the attitude from 3rd world (sorry developing) countries that says, "Your countries buggered up a lot of the evironment when you were growing so we should be allowed to, too."
Yes, we did do tremendous damage. The Brits started the industrial revolution, pumping millions of tonnes of crap into the atmosphere before even realizing that was what we were doing. Yes, it did take us far too long to do anything about it, but we are trying now. Learn from our mistakes!
New technology is with us now, allowing far cleaner operation of factories and recycling is becoming so efficient in some cases (I'm thinking of an Austrialian tyre recycler here) that the very process itself runs the factory doing the recycling without burning or using an outside power source. The waste tyre is in fact completely, 100% recycled. To start anything cost upfront capital, so why not pay for something which will not only end up making a profit but doing so far faster.
I have to ask the question, "Who is the most foolish, the fool or the fool that follows him?" |

I can't speak for the US but the English (who, I might add, are no longer allowed to refer to themselves as English according to the *P.C w*nkers) are actually leaving the UK in their droves. It's everyone else being enticed by free housing, benefits and jobs that actually want IN. Blair never talked us and, of course, never would.
*I cannot understand why these P.C w*nkers seem to think it's perfectly ok for the Scots to say they're Scottish, the Welsh to say they're Welsh, the Irish to say they're Irish but not ok for the English to say they're English. They say that it might offend others living in the country. Well, F**k 'em. I'm ENGLISH and proud of it!!!!

Rudd is so far left the floodgates are just going to open up. Lots of freedom for minority groups in Australia now.
Oh yeah and he's going to back out of Iraq. |

But i agree that the head of our country should not apoligize to any group for any thing that happened in the past.
As the silent majority have just had their say in the election here last week it was made quite clear all that Rudd would pull combat troups out of iraq. This would leave 1000+ there doing the same jab that they are doing atm, security and training.
isnt that what we all want?
