| It's Time To Vote The fireblades version of the US election. Call it a poll if you like but lets get the ball rolling and see who is going to win this race. Vote in our poll and by all means state your reasons in this thread. Anyone can vote as the result of this election has global implications.

| Re: It's Time To Vote I haven't really made up my mind yet.. McCain is old, and has been in Washington for I think 30 years, I think most people want a change in Washington, out with all the "old school",politicians.. Iam concerned with Obamas lack of experience, his foreign policy experience is very little. But he is a fresh face and very intelligent, and it seems like more Americans can relate to him vs McCain. I'm still up in the air.. |

And with respect Stick, I've seen people with no arms finding a way to use a computer. McCain just plain can't or can't be bothered. |

Personally I find it funny for people to say I don't like this or that country. I just mention soccer and how poor some nations perform.
Economy is the new battlefield. All that counts is money and wealth - the more the better.

I take it you're for the Euro? Interesting. Many of my French and Spanish friends where completely supportive of the plan for about a year. They have all since changed their view! |

Most of the legislations that are filtering into our system are European based anyway, I think once again being afraid of being ruled (governed/dictated) by Europe is a mental state of the mind.
Having an open relationship with Europe would be such a great thing for the average brit as they seem to be so narrow minded. If nothing else more kids would grow up speaking a second language. One of the great things I love about the mainland is that most folks can speak (or at least communicate) in a few languages.
As for the Euro yeah Im for it but god the coins are something else

Sorry, mate. But it isn't narrow-minded to want to be ruled by your own country. I know I was joking and being flippant about the pint, but with all due respect, the pound is a strong alternative currency and I see no reason to throw out the baby with the bath water.
I take it you're Scotts from your info. If so, how do you stand regarding independence from England? I for one, having the vast majority of my ancestors coming from Scotland, support them. Why? Because that's what the majority want. They don't want to be ruled by England. It isn't narrow-minded and it isn't difficult to understand. Quote:

You're talking about not just getting in to bed, but getting married and then becoming the bitch. An open relationship is where we allow free trade, which we do.
Are Brits generally lazy when it comes to learning a different language? Yes, but why? Because so much is conducted in this language and not in French or German. However, I spent much of my youth in various different countries in Europe and lived in Holland for over a year. I speak (albeit not perfectly) two different languages other than my own. So I'm not anti-European just anti-being ruled by them!
Ask one Frenchman or German how they'd feel about us ruling them and see what response you'd get... |

| Re: It's Time To Vote This is a prime example of how little Americans really care. This thread has quickly turned into a debate about European politics (not that I mind) and was started as a thread to vote on American Presidential Candidates. Saddening. And on top of that, I see NObama is ahead and not a single comment on why they voted that way.
To me it's a no brainer! Sure either way you go probably isn't the "right" answer, but at least McCain is a proven Countryman. NObama's own wife said that this was the first time she was ever proud of her country...WHAT'S UP WITH THAT! Not to mention in NObama's college career, 3 of his roommates were Pakistani. And on top of that he is friends with a known terrorist Mr. Ayers! Admits it, and makes no apologies! Maybe no one remembers back after 9-11 happened, the terrorists said they were going to attack us from the inside out, infiltrate our political system and bring us down from within. NOW WOULD BE THE TIME TO REMEMBER! I'm going to close with a little quote I found from NObama...
"As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides," Obama said. "There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it."
It's clear and obvious where this man stands! Race taken completely out of the picture, please America, let's not make this mistake! |
