| Re: For Gun Owners Shhhhhhh quit telling people about the trust route then they'll get their panties in a wad. To go NFA I have to do either Trust or Corporate ownership the Chief of Police and The Sherrif will not sign form 1's or form 4's.
Trust is nice since my wife is included in the trust she can have access to them as well and if something ever happened to both of us I have a friend who can administrate the trust until my son is of legal age to take possesion of the trust.
Stamp collecting is an expensive hobby and Rules are a pain in the ass, it's insane that I have to file and have approvel 6 to 8 weeks down the road if I want to take my SBR or SBS with me across stste lines yet I can throw a supressor in the glove box for a pistol or permanatly attach one to extend the barrel length of a SBR to 16" and be legal. |

| Re: For Gun Owners Nope no FFL needed for NFA weapons just the payment of a $200 per item tax, except in the case of Any Other Weapons's then it's $5 per item.
Plus meeting all of the eligibility requirements at the Federal and State level.
For example since Kalifornia does not allow silencers the ATF will not issue a tax permit for the transfer of a silencer to a california resident. But I can get one here in Oklahoma.
To get post 86 automatic weapons you must be a FFL dealer with a type 2 or type 3 special occupational tax permit and then you can get dealer samples of automatic weapons, they are called post ban dealer samples. If you give up your FFL you do not get to keep post ban dealer samples. The nice thing is the post ban dealer samples usually don't cost much more than the civillian semi auto versions.
The next class is pre 86 dealer samples which again you must be a dealer to posses and they can not be transferred to anyone who is not a FFL type 2 or 3 SOT, but if you go out of business and give up your FFL you get to keep pre ban dealer samples in your personal collection.
Finally fully transferrable automatics, if a weapon was registered with the ATF prior to may of 1986 it qualifies as a fully transferrable. |

| Re: For Gun Owners I've got a video some of you might like to see about how the LEO's went around in Louisiana and confiscated everyone's gun after the Katrina hurricane. I never heard about this in the news. A friend gave me a copy of the vid. I wonder if I can put it on You Tube? It's about 20 minutes or so.
Ah I found it, not sure if it's the whole video though. YouTube - NRA: The Untold Story of Gun Confiscation After Katrina
I didn't think I would ever see this in America. |

| Re: For Gun Owners HR 6257 is re-instatement of the clinton assault weapons ban that worked so well at reducing crime :rolleyes
With one noticeable change there is no sunset provision.
Bush would have reinstated the AWB except for the fact that all of the mandatory studies during the 10 year period of 1994 to 2004 showed that the AWB ban did not reduce crime. Gun violence did not decrease, whoa!!!!!!! Really????? Of course this ban did no good it prevented law abiding individuals from buying an "Assualt Weapon" criminals are popping each other with cheap junk.
It effectively says it's not reasonable for us to have a gun that looks like something a soldier or law enforcment department can own and that we have no need for a magazine capacity greater than 10 rounds. A double standard between civillians, cicvillian police forces and citizen militia...i.e. national guard is a step towards facism.
Many states limit the size of your feed devices for hunting, it's called giving game a sporting chance. You can not go hunting for deer with a 30rd magazine in your rifle. So restrictions on magazine capacity sound reasonable to the uneducated masses.
In a high stress self defense scenario most people can not hit the broad side of a barn. Take a tactical handgun or rifle course taught by LEO instructors sometime, it's an eye openeing experience running through a shoot house under the limitied stress of a training environment I can't imagine what it would be like if my life were on the line. Many police officers have emptied entire clips and only hit a suspect once or twice out of 15 or more rounds fired, at ranges of 10 yards or less. Limiting the magazine capacity of civillians and making a law enforcement exception is down right facist and limits your ability to effectively defend yourself. |

hear what you are saying here, but isn't it the case that most people who suffer from gun shot wounds are not the actual intended victim?
Given that you already assert that in times of stress your accuracy goes down, surely allowing everyone to spray as many bullets as they like only increases the chance of killing everyone except your attacker?
Perhaps all guns should back to the good old days of dueling pistols. One shot each... |

| Re: For Gun Owners Increases the odds of making sure the dastardly gits doesn't survive to try again. Typical home invasions unfortunately now are not the lone thief but multiple attackers now. It's all to common to hear of a gang of 3 to 4 perps entering and assualting the home owner. The loaded revolver on the night stand that used to work in years gone by is now more a security blanket than meaningful protection. Believe it or not just as you should have an emergency exit plan in case of fire an emergency invasion plan and practice are necessary. I refuse to be a victim, I refuse to live in fear and I despise any government, leader, law or policy that prevents me from preparing for and defending myself and prevents me from owning the most effective tools I can find to execute the protection of myself and family.
And in answer to your question if you are hit by a round from my weapon you are an intended target, this is why firarms ownership requires more than just having one it requires preperation and training to defend oneself.

(coming from the Uk I'm not sure if thats an okay question?) | Don't mind at all.
I have a PT1911, Tauraus clone of the colt government model 1911 with all the go fast pistol goodies from the factory, SS barrel ambidextrous safety fulll length guide rod etc. Great shooting piece the RO's and pro's at my range have shot it and are amazed at the quality feel and accuracy of it. It's my primary concealed carry peice and night stand pistol.
My wife has a springfield light weight commanders .45 which is the alloy frame 4 1/4" barrel version of the colt government model.
My home defense rifle is a M4 carbine with A3 flat top upper and detachable carry handle and A2 sight. I have a scope and mount for it as well and it's consistently shooting 1/2 moa groups in scoped configuration.
I also keep a shotgun within easy reach, and have a compact high capacity 10 rd .45 3" para ordnance for back up/alternate carry when I want something smaller than the full size pistol. Quote:

I have a .45 Kimber, a nice Fal, a AMAC 5100, two Hart rifles (308/338LM), several couple self made 338LMs, a George Garner AR-10, and a BAR.
Never mind the AKs and ARs.
I help a friend in his gunstore. He is a gunsmith and we build .45s and custom rifles. |

Funny fact, Obama doesn't like guns because, "they kill people" yet he's a smoker. Cigarettes kill far more people every year than guns do. If he wants to save lives he should ban cigarettes. |

The flags of our fathers bare true today as we deal with an oppressive government also. Where will these idiots stop(Katrina video)? The second amendment guarantees my freedom the only way tyranny understands. To infringe on my second amendment rights in any way is to infringe on all my freedoms as i no longer have a way to protect them from tyranny.
Which is why i will never vote for anyone who opposes the second amendment.
Look Ben, we have traded king George III for king George w. the first!

Too many times I have heard from people who buy the if we need one we would be issued one or who tell me I should have joined the military.
The fact that you are looking to the future is great. I could care less about a lax immigration policy as long as everyone crossing the border did so legally, the problem is our border is vulnerable to terrorist crossings and he just doesn't seem to care.
Stoney don't they have a memorial to Bill Jordan somewhere down along the Texas/Mexican border.
I actually get to go shoot more than the majority of active duty troops. Most MOS's only require a 40round annual qualification shoot, they don't send you to the range just for fun. |

Apparently they had ID indicating their former LEO status, and that gave them a pass. This was well before any state had a concealed carry law. |
