| Is the status quo worth a mans life? So I expect we've all read the recent news of the first plan to kill Obama. Some people have already commented on the sad inevitability of such a story, and I expect it won't be the last such attempt. What is it about America and shooting presidents? Four of your presidents have already been assassinated, a further 6 were attempted but failed. Why do they always pick up a gun rather than a voting ballot? And if/and or/when Obama is elected does anyone think he'll last long enough to run for a second term?  | |

| Re: Is the status quo worth a mans life? Personally I believe McCaine will die a natural death prior to anything ever happen to Obama. As for killing a president - yes, can be done if the right people but their heads together. The USA is not different than any other country. |

America is somewhat different to most western powers on this issue, for instance the Uk has only ever assassinated one - a Spencer Perceval in 1812! |
