UN Continues its slide...
You know this is really pathetic. No matter your politics, the UN agreed to go into Afghnaistan, and now that they realize it's not going to be easy, they want to leave. How pathetic, and this is "merely" a regional conflict. They certainly are demonstrating in a world-wide conflagration between modern countries, they'd be utterly hopeless, as that would be a much tougher situation than the Afghan one.

I am utterly shocked that the UN couldn't handle this (or any) situation. I mean, it's just such a great organization. It is just like the League of Nations, and they were a great organization, too.

The UN is also saying they're against the death penalty for Saddam. Maybe they could reconcile that stance with the families of the people that were slaughtered by Saddam while the UN sat on their thumbs?
