| Re: Sen. John Kerry Scandal? Ahhhh, politics, American style. They're all getting out their long knives now,
it seems. Let's make Kerry look like a despicable, morally reprehensible,
womanizing bottom-feeder, and the voting public will flock to the Republicans
in droves. Of course, this sort of private behavior is nobody's ****ing
business, but the U.S. media salivates at the prospect of grilling a public
figure over his or her private affairs, as if this in some way invalidates them
as viable candidates for the presidency. What a friggin' load of horseshit.
Instead of examining his public record as a Senator, they're going for the
dirt yet again. So ****ing sad.... |

| Re: Sen. John Kerry Scandal? Yeah, the dems never go for the dirt, do they?
Be patient, once the Kerry/Edwards ticket is solidified Kerry's Senate voting record will be open for all to see.........and for the left to deny. Kerry has the single most liberal voting record in the Senate - yes, even more liberal than his buddy teddy kennedy.
Hanoi Johnny's public record is fair game when running as a politician, and he is worse than despicable. Now that Howie is out of the picture as the dem candidate the best possible option is for Kerry/Edwards.
They could possibly carry four states total. |

Next thing you know, Bush is going to have information that Kerry is linked to Al Queda or that he is hiding WMD in his closet. Then Kerry is going to find some money printing machines used to buy votes in Florida...
yadda yadda yadda.
Go play hockey. |

| Re: Sen. John Kerry Scandal? If by "American Style" you mean that we have freedom of the press, and that we, unlike most of the world, let our problems out for all to see, than yes it is.
I think it is important to know if a candidate is a skirt chaser.
Why do you care anyway, Ragged? Did we annex the 51st state and I missed it or something? |

Why do you care anyway, Ragged? Did we annex the 51st state and I missed it or something? | 51st state my ass. That'll be the day. Maybe you'll be the 11th province... if you're lucky. We'd probably donate much of what we don't want back to England and France... hell, the whole easter seaboard can go back to England and France can have Louisiana. All we'd want is some portion of the midwest, California and Texas.
As for why we care, I can't speak for raggededge but it's always good to keep an eye on what the neighbour is doing - lets look at it this way, if your neighbour was having a sh!t-slinging fight, would you keep watch so you know when to duck? Some of it is bound to splatter over the fence. |

| Re: Sen. John Kerry Scandal? Canada exists because of the United States. You guys acquire us? Holy ****, that's the best one yet. Canada couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag. Canada vs. France - who would surrender first?
There isn't a piece of Canada worth having anyway.
Red - funny how the dems cry foul over information the public should have, yet make up all the BS in the world they want to sling mud - which is all they do. None of their candidates is actually talking much policy whatsoever, it's just the typical left extremist 'hate Bush' crap. |

| Re: Sen. John Kerry Scandal? 11th province? Mine was in jest, I'm sure yours is too. Of course, how you annotated how we're going to be divided up...maybe not. The GDP of the US is more than 2 times the combination of the 3 countries you mention, I'm pretty sure you guys will have to put off your plan for a while.
As far as splatter over the fence...we're all used to it flying both ways by now. We've all seen your country fling plenty at Bush...

As for the division... I just figured the English and French would want back what they owned way back but if that's the case, does that mean we'd have to give up parts of Cali to the Spanish or Mexicans or something?
As far as the plan, don't you worry. Once I become King of Canada I'll make things happen. A bit of negotiating, we might even trade you a few cases of beer - only a six-pack for rhode island though. heck, I dunno if Rhode Island would be included 'cause it's not big enough for a hockey arena.
As far as poo splattering. Our politicians are lightweight slingers compared to your guys. They're in the minor league. Watching them go into a political battle is the equivalent of seeing 2 first grader girls have a slappy fight.
Seriously though, our government slings relatively little mud towards the states because they are very aware of the economic linkages (bondage?) between the two countries. It's our citizens that are at very big odds with your government... they see, or at least *I* think they see your government as a big bully that does as they please without considering the good of the whole. Canadians generally don't believe "Might is Right" and I think they perceive the USA as having that general outlook. |

| Re: Sen. John Kerry Scandal? Canadians definately have a different world view than Americans if you want to stereotype.
Most Canadians I know are at the very least closet Socialists, or closer to the European way of thinking politically. Every Canadian I've talked to for any length of time always wants to bash our healthcare system for example.
You might be able to take CA...most of the US already considers us to be foreigners.
I of course think the US has the best overall culture...but I'm an American so I'm probably biased.
At Christmas I asked my aunt (we love to argue politics), a shrink, what word describes someone who believes their culture is the best.
Her answer: "Asshole" Then she thought for a second, and said "they have delusions of grandeur." |

But the problem is, the leader of the US MUST be held to a higher standard. Getting caught in a scandal is going to effect how well he works. If it's an average Joe, it's not going to effect too many people. The President of the United States has the ability to destroy the whole country, if not world. |

The people with higher standards were eaten alive by the ones that advanced to find themselves in the top spot. Unfortunately, our electoral choices (anywhere I've seen anyway) are to vote for the candidate that will screw things up the least.
Besides politics, I'm really an optimist (and skirt-chaser). |

I think that being too wrapped up in any one bias whether it be patriotism or brand loyalty or just plain old stubborness leads to an ignorant (in the literal sense) point of view. Looking at issues from many sides leads to a better picture. |
