| Re: Can you have Jesus without God? He who sent me is reliable and what I have heard from Him I tell the world... I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me john14;26,28
I and my father are one ,john 10;30
Jesus said clearly that all he taught was from God the father, If you believe that Jesus taught good things worth following then you are believing in Gods word, and as Jesus claimes to be one with the Father you cant follow one without the other |

| Re: Can you have Jesus without God? You can have prophets without god. If you believe that Jesus was a prophet then no problem. He would be in with good company: Budda, Confucius, and Plato to name a few. Adding divinity to Jesus seems to be a better sell to masses. It makes for better stories and plays to a bigger audience. |

| Re: Can you have Jesus without God? You can believe he's a prophet, but really a prophet that claims to be God and isnt surley wouldnt be very realible and if you study his accuracy it is faultless , without some devine inspiration how could any divinator hope to approach the consintincy that Jesus acheved . The others you mentioned were nowhere near him, they would be better discribed as teachers or guides I was not always a beliver in fact i doubt anyone on this forum is any less convinced than I was, I resisted the influance of the spirit for years and in many ways still do but really in the end what do you have to lose in beliving as opposed to the cost if you dont believe and God is real? I think most of us agree that Jesus taught sound doctrin with reguard to how to live a good existance, the goverment of the USA is based on biblical principal and its worked far better than 2nd place. Its my opinion that it takes more faith to subcribe to the therory of evo than to believe the proponderance of evidence presented in the owners manual the Creator gave us detailing not only how the earth came to be but also how to maintain and preserve it and those who inhabit it |

I'm not going to try and repeat what others have said. I'm just going to state my opinion.
Can you have Jesus' teachings and not believe in God? Yes you can. Many people do. This has already been stated.
Do I believe that Jesus was a man - flesh and blood? Of course of do. Many Historians from that era have documented Jesus. Josephus (not a Christian by the way) even documented the Miracles of Jesus.
The Bible tells of Jesus having emotions, bleeding, being hungry, and being tempted. All of these are human traits.
Do I believe Jesus was and is the "Son of God"? Again, yes I do.
I'll have to explain that one in detail a little later though. Right now I'm too tired to give an acceptable explaination.
Phobe there are some very good books out there that I will challenge you to read. I think you will find them both entertaining and educational. I'm not trying to convert you. I just think you will find the journalistic approach given by Lee Strobel in his books is well explained and written.
Try these
"The Case for Faith"
"The Case for Christ"
"The Case for a Creator"
They are all written by Lee Strobel. They're not long books, and they are an easy, quick read. (I could read them all in a weeks time)
I think at the very least you will be amused. |

I've thought that very same thing before my first post in most of the Politics and Religion forum threads. |
