| Gods busy A United States Marine was attending some college
courses between
assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and
Afghanistan One of the
courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist and
a member of the ACLU.
One day the professor shocked the class when he came
in and
looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, 'God, if you
are real, then I want
you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you
exactly 15 minutes.'; The
lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop.
Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed,
'Here I am God. I'm still
waiting.' It got down to the last couple of minutes
when the Marine got out
of his chair, went up to the professor, and
cold-cocked him, knocking him
off the platform. The professor was out cold.
The Marine went back to his seat and sat there,
silently. The other students
were shocked and stunned and sat there looking on in
silence. The professor
eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the
Marine and asked, 'What
the heck is the matter with you? Why did you do
that?'
The Marine calmly replied, 'God was too busy today
protecting America 's
soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid
stuff and act like an
idiot. So, He sent me...' |

| Re: Gods busy Nothing like addressing freedom of speech issues with violence.
What's really sad about this is that all the Marine had to do is rat out the Professor to the Dean. It might not get the errant Professor off his pulpit, but you wouldn't believe the grief someone can get in this sort of situation, certainly enough that he would never pull a lame stunt like that again. |

| Re: Gods busy But is it a religious post?
I don't think that was the intent, I interpert it as a sign of mans free will to act on a situation presented by some one being a deliberate ass. Not as an attempt to prove the existance of god.
It is a humorous anecdote of what happens when ivory tower mentallity meets reality |

It is a humorous anecdote of what happens when ivory tower mentallity meets reality | I look at it as a sign of Fascism. And an end to Freedom. And that is why the military should be kept in a cage until told what to do. There's no reason that a military person who was trained in totalitarianism should be let out on our streets if they do not posess the ability to be rational.
BTW, it's a fake story told be an idiot with a lack of reasoning as to what would happen to this guy if he punched the teacher.

Why don't you take the stick out of your ass!
My father died for this country, he wasnt a Marine but he was still military.
As far as "Lack of reasoning", someone needs to knock you off your ****in box back down to the planet.
You could always move to Iraq. |

| Re: Gods busy that is usually how it works....somebody using "god" or some other imaginary person to justify the action...take Fred Phelps and that band of losers or Jim Jones, David Koresh(sp?) I could go on but the list is to long. So said Marine took it upon himself to carry out gods work......give me a break

| Re: Gods busy Jesus Christ its obvious intent is as a joke to inspire those of us who believe in our country to have a little pride in ourselves and inspire some esprit de corp.
Personally I am not a religious person. And you have no idea how badly I have wanted to clobber some inane know it all ivory tower academician that hasn't had to stick their toe into the waters of reality at any time in recent history. So many of these people inject their personal views into what they teach, rather than teaching people how to learn and form cognizant opinions of their own, they attempt to brainwash impressionable minds into seeing things their way which disgusts me.
Obviously this story is a fallacy, I find it humorous and enjoyed it. Thanks Chekman.

| Re: Gods busy ok how about this one then... Top this for a speeding ticket............... Two California Highway Patrol Officers were conducting speeding enforcement on I-15, just north of the Marine Corps Air Station at Miramar . One of the officers was using a hand held radar device to check speeding vehicles approaching the crest of a hill. The officers were suddenly surprised when the radar gun began reading 300 miles per hour. The officer tempted to reset the radar gun, but it would not reset and then turned off. Just then a deafening roar over the tree tops revealed that the radar had in fact locked on to a USMC F/A-18 Hornet which was engaged in a low flying exercise near the location.
Back at the CHP Headquarters the Patrol Captain fired off a complaint to the USMC Base Commander The reply came back in true USMC style: Thank you for your letter. We can now complete the file on this incident. You may be interested to know that the tactical computer in the Hornet had detected the presence of, and subsequently locked on to, your hostile radar equipment and automatically sent a jamming signal back to it, which is why it shut down. Furthermore, an Air-to-Ground missile aboard the fully armed aircraft had also automatically locked on to your equipment location. Fortunately, the Marine Pilot flying the Hornet recognized the situation for what it was, quickly responded to the missile system alert status and was able to override the automated defense system before the missile was launched to destroy the hostile radar position. The pilot also suggests you cover your mouths when cussing at them, since the video systems on these jets are very high tech. Sergeant Johnson, the officer holding the radar gun, should get his dentist to check his left rear molar. It appears the filling is loose. Also, the snap is broken on his holster. Thank you for your concern. Semper Fi.
