My 929

What's going on everyone.
Here's my ride.
Wanted to get some opinions on what to do with my rims mainly.
Was thinking of painting the front rim silver to match the silver streak through the black paint. How do yall think that'll look? Was also thinking just some rimtape, maybe red rimtape.
Suggestions?

Also was thinking of adding a few more carbon fiber pieces to the bike. Already have the front and rear turn signals.

She sure looks clean.

Not sure how the silver on the front would look, might look a bit of a mis-match.

I've seen rims which have been powder coated in the middle, and polished on the edges.

Maybe just some rimtape. I like the clean look but i'd like to break it up a bit.

Re: My 929

Hi there - have to agree with Twincam. The one silver wheel would look odd IMO. I'd paint both personally. Not a big lover of wheel tape myself - might be a good idea to put it on to see if you like it and if you do get someone to enamel on a pinstripe... I'd go silver rather than red!

nice bike buddy. hers a wee tip, instead of painting the wheels, get some paint stripper (nitromoors e.t.c.) and take both wheels off then use a small brush to apply the stripper to the rims. you have a machined edge that you can follow with the brush at the inside of the rims. once the paint starts to lift, wash it off with a kitchen pad and warm water. there will be some small area not stripped off, just re apply the paintstripper again and go through the same procedure. underneath the paint on all the alloy wheels there is a beautiful finish of alloy. when its washed and dried just give them a wee polish up with autosol or the like, job done. beware though, it takes a lot to look after them and keep them clean, but they do look brill. you can also paint the spokes and hubs whatever colour you want using small jars of plasticoat from most D.I.Y. stores.

cheers,
ron

Re: My 929

Hey all, appreciate the tips and recommendations. I ended up going with some rim tape acouple days ago to see if I liked it on there. Went with reflective silver and a Red "929" on each side to break it up. Think it looks pretty good. The color matches up to the silver on the bike really well IMHO. I'll post up some pics as soon as I can.
