(Although the SP might be a bit 'compact', from what I have read!) | cheers destructo, the sp2 is no way "compact" none more, or less than any of the other sportsbikes. these guys that write all the bike reviews are only givin their opinion on them. i had read all those traits as well before buying the sp2 and at one time was goin to change ma mind, however, i went ahead an got it an i really got on with it. im 6ft 2" and i felt it to be as comfy as ony of them (apart from the thinly padded seat). the ergonomics of the bike were fine and i went on many a long days rideout up through Glencoe and on to Fort William, then back hame same day. its just like any other sports orientated bike, ye get used to them.
cheers,
ron |

| Re: Rons last two rides Yeah, I'm generally sceptical about what the press say - it's all too much "Emperors new clothes" sometimes if you ask me. I had a go on a 954 once, and found it pretty much the same as my RRW which is now considered a 'sports tourer' by the mags but found them pretty much the same in terms of riding position. Coming from a sports tourer before, I can tell you my Blade is nowhere near!
I've always likes the SP1/2, they look good and sound awesome! |

I've always likes the SP1/2, they look good and sound awesome! | i also had an rrx, had it for two years Destructo, canny find ony pics of it to put on here. had it before i got the digi camera (bugga), onyway, i thot it was a brill bike an i also read the monthly blags sayin it was becoming sports tourer territory when the R1 an gixxer came on the scene. p*sh, they are full on sportsbikes and i can give a perspective of havin one and also later blades. the rrx could do anythin the 954 can do, with the added bonus of bein the most roomy pillion seat on a sportsbike ever, this is good when the other half want to ride along wi you. the rrw/rrx are also the best build quality blades out ther, once again i can claim that through personal ownership. not that the later blades haven't got good build quality, just that those models were the last to have the best all round package and were finished brilliantly. even taking off the fairings for maintenance was made so easy and all the parts went back on where they should with no probs. dont listen to ony sh*te that they are in sports tourer category, remember, those bikes changed the way the future of sportsbikes would go. some honest journalists say to this day that as a package, they are the best blade ever built, an i can agree to that.
cheers,
ron
b.t.w. i only changed min cos it was gettin high on mileage and i was in the financial position to do so. |
