My 1st ride, 03 954rr

Hey fellow riders, my name's archit and i'm from india. I just picked up my 1st ride this sunday which is a 2003 honda 954rr. its been my deram to own this bike and now that i have it, it feels too good to be true

here are a couple of pics one day after i got it..

Its got a full akrapovik exhaust system and a K&N air filter...

unfortunately the guy who had it removed the Power commander to put in his new bike..so i'll have to get one myself...

i did hit a little speedbump though, while washing it a litle water trickled down the tank cover and the drainage pipe was kinked so it did not drain out, when i opened the cover some if it went into the tank and its been acting very wierd since then...

every 40 or so km it starts giving me jerks, the revs fluctuate like mad and the idle drops to 900 rpm..

now what i figure is that the water has probably flooded the fuel pump..i'll drain the gas out and try to get some fresh petrol...

has anyone else faced a similar problem with their bike? or could this be something else?

thanks

Welcome. Drive carefully out there, and don't have more than 4 other family members on your bike with you at the same time

Water in fuel will cause that symptom you mention. If it doesn't stop soon, pour 25 ml isopropyl alcohol into the tank next time you fuel up. Also known as gas line antifreeze, though you won't have to worry about the freezing part

hahah dont worry about that. i'm not one of those who confuses a bike iwtha minivan

and i got the throttlebodies and the injectors cleaned, that sure helped the problem

and freezing? everytime i take the bike out i'm worried about it overheating

safety course here? errrrrr....maybe an online guide would help since that's all the safety course thats available to me...

safety gear : oh hell yes, picked up a jacket the day i ot my jacket, picking up the boots next week and i already have leather gloves with kevlar protection

patience: driving here in itself is a a test of one's patience i can bet that anyone who's driving here for the 1st time would loose his patience in the 1st 5 min , but now we''ve become used to it so i'm in safe grounds but yes even on the highway i do need to be more patient for sure..

Re: My 1st ride, 03 954rr

i'm facing a new problem now,

my fuel reserve indicator doesnt work
and my bike refuses to start in the morning unless i crank the acc up.
arghhhh..and then it sputters unless i keep the rpm at 2k holding the acc till the temp's about 60 degrees...and no its not a cold country..its freakin 38C in the mornings here...
