This is my first time posting to this site so am not sure if I did things right.
I have had my bike for 7 years and it was time for a change. I found a VFR swingarm on ebay and shazam - a new bike.
I grafted a Hot bodies gsxr 1000 exhaust on it to show more of the wheel off.
Other goodies
Cop Siren (it does the whoop whoop and the air horn function)
BMW HID high beams (I put these on 6 years ago, before all these easy kits hit the market)
Hyperpro sterring stabilizer
Had full micron exhaust - put away temporarly
Had PC IIIr - Had issues - Sold it.
Whelen Strobe lights
I have had the bike since new and i have kept every reciept from every oil change to brake pad replacement.
Let me know what you guys think. |

I was making right turn out of my subdivision and I stomped on the throttle. I had no idea that the tire had to be scrubbed in. I slid out to the right, realized that i was sliding out, cut the throttle, put my feet down to catch the bike and it flipped flopped on to the left side. No road rash but rather indentions into the stator cover. I sanded it and polished with a buffing wheel. Plus I had a dime size scratch where the Arai sticker is hence the Arai sticker.
I put the sliders on after... |

| Re: My CBR954RR with Single sided swingarm OK, sweet bike. I had a 95 VFR and love the look of a SSSA. Anyway, you caught my attention with the Whelen strobe lights. Can you elaborate on that? I was trying to think of a way to put in a blue LED, but have not come up with a good way yet. How did you do yours and how do they look? Thanks |

Thanks | I mounted the transformer in the trunk under the drivers seat so I still had a trunk, I mounted two strobes in the headlights. They are in the high beam sides of the light. The strobes come with a rubber groment, drill the correct size hole and push the groment and the strobe through. It is water tight.
I mounted mine in the space between the Honda lable and the mirror. You have to take the headlight out of the cowling to drill but once put back together, you can't see it because the speedometer hides everthing. Plus mounting in that location puts the stobe in the perfect relationship with the reflector inside causing the strobe to be 10x brighter them normal. http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/v...g?t=1243982416

| Re: My CBR954RR with Single sided swingarm Looks good.....Should of had that swingarm powdercoated black...IMO that would of really set it off. Still looks sweet with the mega-phone on it. I have seen another with the SSSA and he ran an undertail exhaust and it didn't look as nice or as clean as yours. |

According to the E-bay auction it was a 2004 with 4k miles. No scratches, no road grime, no oxidation plus the pro arm label http://i678.photobucket.com/albums/v...g?t=1244083634or tag was in great shape so i left it alone. If it was not mint looking, i would have it coated. Hey man, i appreciate the comment. |

Originally Posted by nixhex32 what all was involved in doing the swingarm conversion? i traded a duc 998 for my 954 and would love to have that look again(but the honda reliability!!!) | I want to say that it was easy but that is my oppinion. I had to make some spacers, cut some of the VFR Spacers and trim the VFR Swing arm to fit around my engine. Maybe an hour and half total machine time.
Some things that made it easy. The shock linkage mount on the the swing arm is in the same spot as the 954 (left to right not forward to rearward). I had to use the dog bone from the VFR and turn my Triangle linkage plates 120 degrees forward.
The length of the VFR swing arm is the same as the 954 so i was able to use my original chain. The VFR used a 43 tooth rear sprocket same as the 954 so my speedo stayed the same. My ride height is exactly the same as it was before so i didn't have to do anything with the kick stand.
Overall it was a perfect fit. |

Awesome bike, I love it. few questions as I have done a search on this form and havent found much in the way of a SSSA conversion for a 929.
1. The VFR your SA came from I am going to assume is from a VFR 800? also what if any mods did you have to do to get it to bolt on?
This looks like a good project to start on this winter. |
