| New to me 03' 954RR Picked it up about 2 or 3 weeks ago, paid $4200. Didn't think it was too bad of a deal. Shows 18,4xx miles but it's been geared since 11k, first owner did it and I'm the third so I don't know how many teeth +/-. Has an older style serial PCIII, TiForce full exhaust, swingarm extension, and just today got the speedo healer V3.0 dialed in perfect with the GPS. Also just had brand new Michelin Pilots put on it. Plastics aren't perfect, been down once or twice but it's a good 5 footer. Been riding dirtbikes and 4wheelers my whole life but my back is tweaked up pretty bad and this isn't quite as harsh. It's my first street bike so I have quite a bit to learn but so far it's been a verrrrry wise choice. And before anyone says anything, no I don't ride in what I'm wearing in that picture. I have a nice Icon helmet, Alpinestars sniper textile jacket, and AP1 gloves! |

| Re: New to me 03' 954RR you a fan of the stretched look? i personally prefer it stock length but i cant hate if you like it..954's are beautiful no matter what and yours is no exception! all i'd do it ditch the extensions and powdercoat the swingarm black to go along with the dark theme. p.s. good luck learning..just take it easy and be smart and youll be fine. |

| Re: New to me 03' 954RR Was on it when I bought it, I don't really like it or dislike it. Handles just fine on the street for me. I don't like the front end coming up on me anyways. Four pinched nerves and a chipped vertebra from my wheeler rolling back on me. When it comes time to take the test for my license though I will have to weave the cones and it will probably go to stock length, see how I like it for a while. Thanks for kind words! |

| Re: New to me 03' 954RR Thanks man, where in KY you from? Im right across the river from Louisville.
And does anyone know where I can find the plugs that hold these in? Ace hardware? Lowes? Anything besides having to drive all the way to a dealer to get them (both sides?) |

| Re: New to me 03' 954RR both sides of mine are just holes coming off metal brackets w/o any threading, and I don't see a way to thread a nut on the back of a screw in that position unless the screw points to the outside? Got a picture or something, maybe I'm thinking about it too hard. |

| Re: New to me 03' 954RR the nuts are inserts that you can get at any motorcycle shop they are rubber inserts with a nut attached to the end, so when the screw tightened it will pull the nut tight and tighten up.

| Re: New to me 03' 954RR You can also buy these at menards if you can find the size you need. I now they have them just not sure of the sizes. One thing I do know though is they will be a lot cheaper from Menards than a stealership. |

| Re: New to me 03' 954RR Can ya get me a picture of what they look like. My local Ace Hardware carries just about everything so I'm sure if I bring them a picture they can set me up. Or just the actual technical term of what they are? |

Or just the actual technical term of what they are? | Here is a video of what they look like. This is for a windscreen but what you need will look the same. They come in different sizes. The part is listed as a 5mm nut. Which wont help your search at the hardware store but at least now you know what they look like. Sorry I don't have a better picture but this is the best I could do on short notice. The rubber part will have a nut inside of it that a screw will go into. As you tighten the screw the nut will pull towards the head of the screw and flare out the rubber groumet. YouTube - How to Pimp Motorcycles : Installing a Motorcycle Windscreen |

| Re: New to me 03' 954RR Ok, I get it now. I have some in the garage actually for a windscreen, so I'll take some up there and try to find the right size. Thanks for the help! |

I work with Eric and Kayla Korff if you know them. I got antsy and tried out hospital curve, tightened up my rear end a little but I got through it. People like to take up a little more than their needed lane. I need to go get it registered today but worked 14 hrs last night so I'm about to crash. Plus my dog needs a much needed walk .
