EXACTLY.....I'm not much of a "stunter" at all, I prefer the track anyday....
But to get it off the streets, promote the sport and give people a good show its what we are after. The cops love us now, because no one rides the street anymore, they stop by all the time to watch. They will have a booth set up at the show as well to hand out info and BS with the public... |

| Re: Stunt Bash 2005 - Ames, IA...Now with PICS! I have seen too many times driving around this town guys on one wheel, zooming in and out of traffic. One day I actually saw some guy standing on the gas tank doing a Christ right down the busiest street in Ames. Keeping it in a parking lot, or a county road is one thing, but they Don't. Then the law abiding riders get harrassed by the police. |

I agree any unsafe riding on the street is bad for motorcycling, including racing, which most members of this board seem to be a fan of as long as it is on the track. But if events like this promote motorcycling and influence stunnas to be more selective of "private" venues what's the problem? No one is asking you to champion the cause, just pass the word or at least be tolerant of fellow motorcyclist enjoying their own style of riding in a safe environment. Face it, stunting is not going away. As good ambassadors of motorcycling we should applaud the efforts to organize stunt riding and keep it off the streets. If this event is organized and promoted correctly it should contribute to safe riding and spread the message that stunting belongs off the street. I think it’s a shame that tolerance and education aren’t more prevalent here.

| Re: Stunt Bash 2005 - Ames, IA...Now with PICS! Wow, the pond seems particularly overstocked in this thread. Only goes to show wht the right bait will do for a day on the pond. No keepers though, I guess I'll just throw em back. |

Cool pics. Recommendation - if the camera has a manual exposure function, set a higher shutter speed (higher than 1/250 if possible) to eliminate that blur. |

| Re: Stunt Bash 2005 - Ames, IA...Now with PICS! That must take a lot of talent and practice to wheelie with those 80 tooth sprockets.
Didn't look like much of a "bash"... I saw 3 squids showing off in a parking lot. At least they had cool graffiti-like lettering on their bikes. I wonder if they are "ryders" as opposed to "riders"? |

| Re: Stunt Bash 2005 - Ames, IA...Now with PICS! I never noticed the sprocket thing...thats funny those things are huge. I did not even think that they made them that big for the road, maybe a dirt bike chain/sprocket conversion? |

| Re: Stunt Bash 2005 - Ames, IA...Now with PICS! Hey, at least they are keeping it off the streets. Now as for not wearing gear, well that's their ass if they wreck. Once one of them gets rashed up bad enough they might learn. But of course all the slow ass parking lot circles has gotten really boring to me as of late. rather see high speed wheelie combos on the strip.
