Cape Breton TT cancelled

Bummer...would've been nice to have another road course circuit to watch.

Typical stuff really. Wait until everything is in motion and then blow everyone off with a "you forgot to cross a T on the first application . . .".

It sounds political to me and obviously someone's palm didn't get greased well enough.

That's what happened to the Park City Classic out here. They held it one year with plans (and an initial permit/OK from the City) for four more for a total of five years, but a month or so before the second race it was all cancelled.
It was a really good event, too. A nice public street course and very well attended. I forget the numbers, but I know that attendance was ~150% of expected.
But that didn't matter, nor did the positive economic impact, once some councilman decided his palms were too dry.

That was the replacement for Steamboat right? Shame, as it looked pretty nice.

That it was. There were many promises and they were almost all broken.

Re: Cape Breton TT cancelled

There was a real good write up in one of the American rags about that awhile back (when it was a go). I thought that it was an awesome idea to have a TT so close to America.

Didn't have an idea it was going to be cancelled, the article sounded like it was a done deal.

oh well...
