| Get a load of this The Jebel Hafeet Mountain Road in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) might just be greatest driving road in the world. Stretching for 7.3 miles and climbing nearly 4,000 feet, it boasts 60 corners and a surface so smooth that it would flatter a racetrack. UAE seems intent on having the best of everything, including great places to take your bike when you need to unwind. I wonder how hot it gets up there and what other local hazzards you might have to deal with like Camels crossing the road maybe? |

| Re: Get a load of this Looks like it would be an awesome ride..the road resembles that on the Mazda 'Zoom Zoom' commercial.
Any idea what price you pay if you're caught speeding? Or for that matter what the speed limit would be on a road like that?
If only for a day- well we can always dream |

Head's Up: Anyone going to Deal's Gap in the near future be careful. The THP has been out in force in 2007 so don't plan on setting any land speed records. They have slacked up lately but will more than likely return with warm weather. I have never been without seeing at least one or two. There are some great rodes in NC really close to the gap so don't let the THP stop you from going to the Gap just be warned. |

| Re: Get a load of this Summer in UAE hits around 140 degrees. It's hot like I've never seen. I lost 25 pounds in 3 months. On the plus side, the people are fairly friendly, but can't drive worth a flip. I doubt you'd ever get a ticket, cops have serious things to worry about there, not quotas to meet.
+1 on the cherohala skyway. The dragon is fun, but people get way to crazy there. It's got a big reputation and the idiots flock from all over to "prove" themselves. I went there last summer with my cousins from Florida that HAD to ride it. It got pretty ugly. There was crying.

Notice I said drove and not rode. Was driving an '08 Nissan Altima and had my wife with me the first time, and kids with us the second time. Posted limit varies between 50 km/h and 30 km/hr. Lots of poor drivers all over the road.
Promised myself that I will get back there, but on my '98 919, before the end of March, when temperatures will start to climb. Right now it stays below 25 C, but later will rise to 50 C. |
