| You're Gonna Laugh in 15 Seconds We took a day ride last weekend into southern Indiana and I am still amazed at what I have seen.
After an hour or so of banging corners we came to a stop in a small town on the river for a break. One of the guys noticed that the master link on an F3 was missing and the chain barely being held on the bike. While we all debated the best way to get home and come back with a truck. One of the more creative guys went to a house and asked for a pair of pliers and a coat hanger (wait for it), and made a master link right there on the spot . I was scared to death for this guy to ride it, but he wanted to try, so I waited for the madness to unfold. I just told him to get it in high gear and ride easy to keep the tension on the chain low.
He rode for damn near 40 miles like that before it gave out. The Chain spit out of the back with out causing him or anyone else any harm, luckily. Which left him on the side of the interstate with no chain, again debating how long it was gonna take to get the truck.
But wait, theres more. Instead of going home to get a truck, the same couple creative guys tied 2 belts together and towed it home with a 1000rr down the interstate median.
Picture coming soon......

And yes MacGuyver would be proud.

| Re: You're Gonna Laugh in 15 Seconds Here in Thailand they do one better...As recently as yesterday I saw one guy actually PUSHING someone on a dead motorbike. Here's how it works: Driver of operational bike rides right next to and a little behind the dead bike, then sticks one leg out and pushes on the dead bikes foot peg! Granted these are usually little 110-125cc things, but still funny to see. I'll have to get a picture some time. |

| Re: You're Gonna Laugh in 15 Seconds Man those are my kind of people! Once I popped my rear tire riding at night and made it to a gas station with no tire plugs. No worries! some chewing gum and a big piece of mulch as a make shift plug held out 5 miles home, and then to the tire shop!
ingenuity and disregard for safety go a long way. |

| Re: You're Gonna Laugh in 15 Seconds Man I LOVE all the things you see in Indiana. I live in West Lafayette for school at Purdue, and it never ceases to amaze me the stuff that people do in Indiana. I'm from California, and well, we do things a little differently. Out here, people seem to do whatever it takes to get the job done, without taking in regard any safety for themselves or others. Whenever I see something crazy here in Indiana, I just say "F*cking Indiana...." |

Just put your right knee out so the other rider can hang on with their left hand.
