Garage Door Opener using Hi-beams

I saw this on another site. It's supposed to work with bikes too...pretty cool setup.

Re: Garage Door Opener using Hi-beams

I've seen people make those for their bikes. Those things are pricey!

$100... man. If you were willing to hide your opener under the rear seat, you could do this for $10-$20 at the most. All you would need is some wiring, a relay, maybe 2, and some resistors. You could wire the remote to run off your battery, and wire from the bright switch to the contacts on the board for your remote. If I had a garage door opener to play with I would sketch this up and post it, but since I don't have a garage, there is not a need for a garage door opener.

Re: Garage Door Opener using Hi-beams

You put an opener on the trailer and on our group rides you can just pull right in... The Valdez needs this...
