Re: Difference between Arai RX7-rr4 and RX7-Corsair

RR4 is last years model, the Corsair is the latest greatest. There are good deals on the RR4's right now. I'm not sure how much difference there is between the 2 helmets design wise, but I don't think it's too much.

Re: Difference between Arai RX7-rr4 and RX7-Corsair

I had a RX7RR, and I checked out the Corsair at a local cycle gear. Not much difference if you ask me, like he said good deals on the RR right now. I ended up going with Shoei's new X11 which I think is better than either.

Another piece snapped off my Arai RX7RR today. *I love the helmet but have had crap luck with the thing. *I hate to say it, but I might go Shoei next time.

Correction: helmet model letters

Can't comment on the differences, but I can say they are easy to spot...

The corsair will have the forward facing air thingy in the middle of the top, the RR4s is backwards...

Also, from a glance, the chin vent looks different.

I had the old Edwards rep in RX7RR4. Now I have the black Nicky rep. The Nicky seems to be a little lighter and quieter. All else is pretty much the same.

Diesel954, Is your Arai the Corsair or the RR4? I have only seen the blacked wired in the corsair. Just curious.

Re: Difference between Arai RX7-rr4 and RX7-Corsair

My bike shop has X11 Daijira(sp?) replicas. Only had an XL in stock though.

Has anyone seen that German helmet that the whole face opens on, like the syncrotec? Except that there is part of the helmet that also raises above the visor so the top of the visor is protected when opened. It also has a tinted visor inside the clear one, it only covers half the face when lowered though. Pretty cool, wouldn't have to worry about glasses or carrying two shields around.

Re: Difference between Arai RX7-rr4 and RX7-Corsair

I believe the major differences between the RR4 and Corsair:

- Each diffuser has an additional hole on top
- There are more holes/vents underneath the diffuser
- The middle vent is turned around

This was what was told to me by a parts distrubutor. So if I'm wrong, shoot him and not me.

Re: Difference between Arai RX7-rr4 and RX7-Corsair

mr rua, I would never shoot any one over not knowing the difference between the two. I am asking if any one knows the difference! I don't want Arai to get rich off me because of their about no internet sales. I like the features of the RX7 series helmets. Even their website does not have the Corsair listed. The only two things that bother me about Arai helmets is that they seem to have more wind noise than others and that you can not buy them(legally, so Arai instructs their distributors) over the net. I know this has been beat to death in the past and I do not want any discussion about it. I just want to know the difference. I hope this did not offend you, because it was not meant to in any way shape or form.

Re: Difference between Arai RX7-rr4 and RX7-Corsair

Sorry about that. The Edwards was an RR and my new Nicky is a Corsair. The RR used to make my ears hurt after a ride but the Corsair doesnt do it. I still have my Signet GT as well. It is more comfortable but heavier.

Uhhh...I was J/K'ing when I said 'shoot' hence the smiley face at the end of the sentence. Not offended, takes a lot to offend me. Anyways, good luck on the buy.

Hey guys looking into buying an RX7 Corsair, specifically the Nicky Hayden GP. Best deal i found online was 10% off and free shipping at Arai RX7 Corsair Nicky Hayden GP Helmet - RevZilla Motorsports RevZilla. Haven't bought from them before, anyone have experience?

Holy reviving an old thread, batman! Haven't heard of them, but if you're going to the Javits show in December, check out The Service Pavillion's booth. They have decent prices and they will custom fit you if necessary at no extra charge. I bought my last helmet from them at the show a couple of years ago.

I know it's an old thread, but same here and I just had them replace some parts a couple of months ago, and here I go again.
