Sears Commercial Motorcycle Lift

I saw a commercial the other day, and thought I would share the idea, if someone else didn't see it already. It seems to be of good quality. My roomate works for sears, so I think a full test will be in the near future, whether I return it or keep it

I'm no mechanic so I, for once, am serious; Can you get a 'blade up on those stands? I thought the exhaust got in the way... I think someone on here was saying they needed a special attachment.

Not bad, my guess is that for most bikes you would need to fabricate some sort of adaptor. Otherwise it would damage your plastics and exhaust as well as not being very stable.

I don't think those work on sportbikes 'cuz of the exhaust being on the underside, however, I did see one forum member do it, I just can't remember who

Yeup, exhaust is in the way. SAMS Club has one for $90 that I was going to buy, but upon consideration I remembered that the lower fairings would have to be removed and then the S-pipe would be in the way. Using ratcheting straps with S-hooks in the ceiling joists will work fine, until someone develops a floorjack for sportbikes.

I have the craftesman lift it is good quality but doesn't work on sportbikes

saw it at Harbor Freight for $99. Only thing is that the box states that its for crusers only.

I was at Sears staring at that thing for 20 minutes the other day, wondering how I could get it to work.

Does anyone think a bracket could be attached so one could pick up a sportbike by the swingarm pivot? My 954 has that hole underneath, into which another pin could be inserted to stabilize it. I've seen endurance racers that had similar rigs..

I bet that with the right spacers/blocks/whatever, this could pick up a fireblade by a combination of HTEV area, swingarm pivot, and engine/frame bolt (where sliders go). Maybe someone could even come up with good accessory sets for a number of sport bikes and make money selling them...

I bought one the Sears units last weekend for $93 'drive out' using some coupons and a Craftsman Tool Club Card. I am going to use to install new forks and a shock soon. I have not worked out the details but I think with the lower plastics removed and a fabircated wooden base (cradle) I will be able create a permanent solution to lifting the bike. I will report back whether or not all this works in a few days.

I have a lift like that. Its not a Craftsman or anything fancy but it is the same concept. I can use mine on the 954 but have to use the bottom of the exhaust headers as a contact point for the rubber pads on the lift itself. A couple tie-downs are needed to keep it from falling over as well. Once on the lift it works quite well. I havent used it since putting the Hindle on though. Only used it when the stock system was on. But for $30 I cant really bitch about how well it works.

I have the Craftsman lift. *Got it from a someone who didn't pay up on another favor. *Anyhow, with some modification I have my RC on the lift right now. *Since I have race plastics, I removed the lower, took some measurements, cut some and she is in the air. *I would not recomend the stand for someone who has kid that like to touch the bike. *

Sits kinda like a 32' TV on a TV tray.

I can run downstairs and take a pic if anyone is interested.

I have that lift and it is good for my Shadow. I wouldn't try it w/ my fiddy four. I like it. Wait for it to go on sale for 99 though. 120 is too much.
